We had a great stay in Madagascar. The tour has organized for us a wonderful holiday. We also greatly appreciated our local escorts, guides and drivers (it is necessary to be very good to drive on the roads of Madagascar) For your future stay in Madagascar, call the Green Island Discovery team. You'll be very satisfied of their services. Thank you Green Island Discovery, we hope to see you again very soon!

My driver was Nestor, he was a great drive and I felt well taken care of. My guide that was arranged was Andry and he was terrible. He did not share any information of value or that was correct. I had to re-verify information with my National Park guides or the internet. He had no qualms about making me wait. He would confirm early departure times, all which I was ready for, and he, himself not be ready. He often wanted to stop for coffee and smoke breaks b/c he was tired, but he was not the one driving...or preparing and making arrangements. I also did not feel comfortable in his presence and he made a couple of inappropriate remarks or comments. He has zero sense what would make a tourist comfortable nor did he realize that his presence was not wanted nor did I want to talk to him anymore by the mid mark of the trip. He eventually told me he was not a real guide and decided to do this job because he could not find another. He was terrible and I recommend that Green Island Discovery NOT engage him again.

I was expecting to go on a group tour. Very disappointing to discover 12 hours before the start of the tour I was the only one. Not being able to speak the language resulted in long lonely evenings. Not uncommon to spend 8 - 10 hours travelling from one destination to the next in a car. As a result missed seeing some of the attractions on the itinerary. Meals varied from being reasonable to poor. Refused to stay in one accommodation offered although to the tour operator's credit they did find an alternative that was much better. The guide and driver were very good. Only reason I did not cancel early. Will not use tourradar again and intend to take the matter further. What should have been a holiday of a lifetime turned out to be a poorly scheduled package, with long tiring journeys, lonely evenings punctuated by occasional highlights.

First let me say that our guide and driver were excellent. They were friendly, helpful and we felt safe with them. The country is beautiful, and we enjoyed the experience in many ways. We loved the Tsingy, and Ifaty and enjoyed all of our stops. However, because the tourism infrastructure in Madagascar is not well developed, and because the brochure was not forthcoming, we were not prepared for our particular itinerary, which included 4-10 hours of driving on most days through roads that were not maintained and some strenuous hiking (including with cables and harnesses). There were no details in the brochure to lead us to expect these potential dangers. This tour included excessive amounts of driving and dangerous road conditions. The vehicle we traveled in did not include rear seat belts, so this would have felt completely unsafe if not for our skilled driver. If choosing a trip to Madagascar, please be sure to have detailed conversations with your tour operator about exactly what to expect, and consider flying between major points. Try not to stay in the town of Manja. Our accommodations there were well below satisfactory. I am rating this tour a 3 because the country is beautiful, and the service was excellent, but I would not choose or recommend this particular tour. The amount of driving was excessive and limited the amount of time to actually enjoy stops.
