Itinerary
- Day 1
Nairobi to Masai Mara
Your driver will pick you up from your Nairobi accommodation or the airport early in the morning, and you'll head south toward Masai Mara. Along the way, you'll stop at a viewpoint where you can see the Great Rift Valley escarpment and the dormant Mt. Longonot stretching out below you. There's a brief break in Narok town to stretch your legs, and then you'll continue on to Masai Mara National Reserve. After checking in at your lodge in the afternoon, you'll have lunch and time to settle in. Later, before dinner, you'll head out for an evening game drive to start spotting wildlife as the day winds down.

- Day 2
Masai Mara
This is your full day searching for the Big Five across Masai Mara. You'll do game drives along the Mara and Talek rivers, with your picnic lunch set up under a croton tree so you can eat while taking in the landscape around you. If you're interested, there's an optional early morning hot air balloon safari available that gives you a completely different perspective of the reserve from above. This is the same landscape where the wildebeest migration happens every year, so you'll get a real sense of why this place is so important for wildlife in East Africa.

- Day 3
Masai Mara to Nairobi
After an early breakfast, you'll check out and start the drive back toward Nairobi. On the way, you'll stop at a Maasai village where you can learn about the community and spend time talking with local people about their way of life. There's a complimentary simple lunch at a traveller's motel en route, so you'll have a chance to refuel before continuing on. You should arrive at your Nairobi hotel in the afternoon, giving you the rest of the day to relax after your time in the reserve.
