- IVIen G.M.· July 12th, 2022After John welcomed us most warmly, we went to the Masai Mara for 3 days. Our guide Steve was just the right man for the job. He is an excellent driver & guide. He would tell us what we wanted to know, and he was very helpfull and efficient (mostly in the background) in organising what was necessary. We saw many animals, the Big Five and many more, except a leopard, which is always very difficult to spot. The service and guidance was very personal and to the point, which made us really enjoy our stay! And the Sopa Lodge was excellent also, both the room, service and the food! I corresponded with John over email and he answered 100 of questions before working out the perfect tour for us. We wanted a private luxurious safari and he planned it for us. That also within a very short time. John was amazing. He met us at the airport when we landed in Nairobi. He met us at the Nairobi hotel the next day. John came to the airport on the day we flew for our safari to Amboseli National Park and Masai Mara. All the places we stayed in these places were first class, and the guides were amazing. The food, drinks and service was top class. After our safari ended, John met us at the airport and spend half a day with us helping us with souvenir shopping etc. We just had the most perfect time. I would recommend John ad his team without any hesitation. He is very trustworthy and everything was exactly as he described for us. Thank you, John. Neil· August 22nd, 2019Firstly the tour was not run by CKC. I was bundled in with people who had made bookings through 3 other companies. Although the driver/guide was excellent it was not a CKC one as I had anticipated. Secondly iI paid a single supplement but when I got to the campsite which was not the one listed in the itinerary, they had no single accommodation available. Eventually I got a tent in a different campsite but this involved crawling through barbed wire to get my meals in the campsite where I was originally taken. The food was awful - not enough to sustain life, was cold and ran out early. Breakfast was particularly dreadful and I skipped it one morning because of this. I also found the fact that there was an apartheid system for meals whereby we were placed in the inferior food section without an option of upgrading for a fee. Finally the last morning we were taken to a Masai village which essentially was high pressure selling even after we had paid £15 to enter. All we got for this was 5 minutes in a smokey hut and a demonstration of how to make fire which was something I learned to do in the scouts in my teens. I found the whole thing deeply patronising. Asked on March 8th, 2024The four of us are interested in a 3 or 4-day (2 or 3 night) trip into the Masai Mara reserve. What tour pricing do you have for two residents and two non-residents? We don't need airport transfers and we will consider sharing with other travelers. One of our group is disabled, so we need comfortable accommodations with easy access. The week of September 9 is our best time.

Yes, this is a Group Tour. Mara Sopa Lodge is the only medium range Safari Lodge in the vicinity so accommodation options are limited. Food is included; breakfast, lunch, dinner, accommodation, park entrance fees, game drives and bottled water when you are inside the vehicle; all above are included.

The meals are buffet style and they are continental dishes. Even vegetarian meals are offered. We have options for a private tour using a private Toyota Land cruiser Jeep on safari. We can offer you 3 days/2 nights at Zebra Plains Masai Mara Tented Camp using a private Jeep for the 2 of you only for USD 2,700 total.

We have options for a private tour using a private Toyota Land cruiser Jeep on safari. The previous quoted group tour uses a shared safari minivan. The vehicles have no AC. The safari vehicles have a prop up roof for your ease of game viewing.

Being a wild phenomenon we cannot be sure when the wildebeest crossing of Mara river can take place. However, you can try your luck because at that time the wildebeests will be at the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Yes, this is a room and not a tent. The room is a private one for you only. The safari vehicle takes a maximum of 8 clients. It depends on the number of passengers available on any given day. The vehicle is a converted Toyota Hiace van with a roof hatch for ease of game viewing.
