Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Sri Lanka
A Sri Lankan representative will meet you at the airport and drive you to your hotel. Depending on when you land, there might be time for a quick city tour before you check in. It's a good day to rest up after traveling.

Weyangoda to Sigiriya
After breakfast, you'll head through the Cultural Triangle, passing rice paddies and old reservoirs along the way. The Dambulla Rock Temple comes first, a UNESCO site with five caves holding over 150 Buddha statues. From there, you'll continue to Sigiriya, which sits surrounded by thick forests and greenery.

Sigiriya
Start by visiting a rural village in Habarana to see how local people live. You'll walk through scrub jungle and then take a catamaran on a lake where you can see Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala Rock from the water. After lunch at the village with traditional food, head to Polonnaruwa Ancient City in the afternoon, one of Sri Lanka's best preserved archaeological areas.

Sigiriya to Anuradhapura
Travel to Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka's first capital, to walk through ancient ruins and temples that show the country's deep Buddhist history. You'll see historical monasteries and monuments throughout the day. Later, return to your eco-friendly hotel for the evening.

Anuradhapura to Kandy
Get an early start climbing Sigiriya Rock Fortress before the crowds arrive. This 200-meter complex has water fountains, boulder gardens, frescoes, and mirror walls to explore. After coming down, you'll drive to Kandy, another UNESCO city famous for the Temple of the Tooth Relic.

Head into the Hill Country to visit a tea plantation and factory where you'll learn how Ceylon tea gets made. You'll have a chance to taste fresh Ceylon tea right at the estate. Next, explore Nuwara Eliya, known for its old British colonial buildings and cooler mountain climate.

Nuwara Eliya

You'll pass by Baker's Fall and Chimmini Pool, then reach World's End, a cliff edge dropping 3,700 feet. On clear mornings, you can see tea estates and the southern coast from up there.

Sinharaja to Colombo

Departure from Colombo
