Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Cusco

You'll arrive in Cusco and check into your hotel. The main focus today is taking it easy and getting used to the altitude, since you're at about 3,400 meters above sea level. Stay hydrated throughout the day, maybe take a gentle walk around town if you're feeling up to it, or just relax at your hotel. Sipping some traditional coca tea can help your body adjust to the elevation.

    Optional Activities

    • Gentle walk around local area
    • Sip traditional coca tea
  2. Day 2

Moray - Maras - Aguas Calientes

An early pickup gets you headed toward Chinchero to see Inca walls and a colonial church. From there, you'll watch local artisans demonstrate traditional Andean weaving techniques. Next, you head to Moray to check out the circular agricultural terraces, then down to the Maras Salt Mines where over 3,000 salt evaporation ponds are carved into the mountainside. Later in the day, you'll board a scenic train to Aguas Calientes and settle into your hotel for the night.

    • Waman AdventuresOperatorWritten July 2025

The Vistadome train is not included by default in the standard package. It is available as an optional upgrade for those who would like a more scenic and comfortable experience with panoramic windows and enhanced onboard service. Cost of Vistadome upgrade: USD $100 per person. The train travels from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes and back. While the views along the route are beautiful, you won't be able to see Machu Picchu from the train, as the citadel is located on a different mountain ridge.

    Asked on June 11th, 2025

One of my doubts is, at the beginning it mentions that we have breakfast included every day but there are times we leave very early, will breakfast be available at those hours? or how does it work in that case.... another thing I know there are several routes through Machupichu, which route is included in this tour? does it take us to the traditional photo? or is it to another point of machupichu?

    Meals
    Tour Details
    • Waman AdventuresOperatorWritten June 2025

Breakfast is included every day and available from 6:00 a.m. On early departure days, passengers will have breakfast in a restaurant en route. For example, on Day 4 - Laguna Humantay and Day 5 - Mountain of Colors, we start pickups between 03:50 to 04:10 a.m., and then make a stop to enjoy breakfast. The Machu Picchu ticket included is Circuit 3, which allows taking the classic panoramic photo, visiting the Temple of the Sun, entering the Inca House, and enjoying other relevant points within the citadel.

    • Waman AdventuresOperatorWritten April 2025

If you hold an Indian passport and have permanent residence in Canada, you can travel to Peru without visa. Regarding your second question, the ticket to Machu Picchu Mountain is not included in the package. The hike to either Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu is a truly extraordinary experience that you can add for an additional cost. US$ 90 per person.

I have read that it is possible to go to the DDC office to try to get next day tickets. Is it possible?

    • Waman AdventuresOperatorWritten April 2025

Yes technically it is possible, but it's a very exhausting process and there is no guarantee of success. You would go with the hope of purchasing your ticket on the spot, but there's also a real possibility that no tickets will be available by the time you get there. Additionally, the purchase must be made in person and involves standing in long lines.

    • Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
