- Day 1
Casablanca to Rabat
You'll be met at Casablanca airport and transferred to Rabat, about 90 km away or roughly 1.5 hours by car. This afternoon, check out the UNESCO-listed Kasbah Oudaya sitting at the mouth of the Bouregreg River, then head to the ancient Chellah Necropolis where ruins span from Phoenician times through Roman and medieval periods. After that, grab mint tea at a local café with views overlooking the river before settling into your riad in the medina's heart.

Rabat to Chefchaouen
After breakfast, you'll drive through the Rif Mountains for about 3.5 hours to reach Chefchaouen, known as the blue city. The route takes you past cedar, cork oak and fir forests, gorges and valleys with some really dramatic mountain scenery. Once there, have lunch and then join a guided photo tour with a local photographer who knows where the best hidden spots are in the blue-painted medina. Later, finish with a sunset hike to the Spanish Mosque viewpoint, where locals sometimes have goat's cheese to snack on.

Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes
You'll leave for Volubilis, 164 km away or about 3 hours, to walk through one of Morocco's most important archaeological sites with remains from pre-Roman through early Islamic periods. From there, continue to Meknes Medina, just 29 km or 40 minutes away, where you'll have lunch and see the imperial sites, including the distinctive 17th-century Wooden Doors that mix Islamic and European architectural styles. Then it's on to Fes, 68 km or 1 hour away, and you'll check in at your riad. Dinner's included at your accommodation.

Fes
After breakfast, you'll explore Fes el Bali with a guide covering the Royal Palace, Jewish Quarter and Medrasa. Take a break for lunch before heading to the artisan quarters, tanneries and souks. Walking through the medina's maze-like streets, one of the world's largest car-free urban zones, you'll pass specialty food and spice sections while watching craftspeople work. Stop at Al Qarawiyyin, the world's oldest continuously operating university and first degree-awarding institution. The evening includes a Fes street food tasting tour, sampling dried meats, pancakes, samosas, sardines, potato cakes, snail soup, cured olives and honey.

You'll leave Fes for the High Atlas Mountains, driving about 7 hours to reach Erfoud, known as the Door to the Desert. You'll stay at a kasbah-style hotel built with traditional Moroccan adobe bricks, perfect for unwinding after such a long drive.

Erfoud to Merzouga
You'll continue to Merzouga, 55 km or about 1 hour away, beneath the orange-hued Erg Chebbi dunes. These towering sand formations rise to 150 meters high with wind-swept crests and valleys. Leave your gear at a simple auberge and ride camels to the desert edge, enjoying a sunset that highlights the vibrant colors. Spend the night camping in traditional style with comfortably appointed beds, a central terrace with cushions and rugs, tribal songs around an open fire, and stargazing with a telescope and astrology lesson.

Merzouga to Dades Gorge
Wake early to watch the sunrise over the desert with freshly made coffee and mint tea served on the dunes. Then head for the Dades Valley, 310 km or 5 to 6 hours away, known as Morocco's Grand Canyon. Along the way, look for fossils in areas with fish, crocodile and Spinosaurus bones and teeth. Depending on time, you might visit an active mine, explore an open quarry or see a local marble plant. When you arrive, take a short walk through the spectacular Dades Gorge. Dinner is included at your riad with views of the gorge and high-quality cuisine.

Dades Gorge - Skoura - Ait Benhaddou
After breakfast, you'll travel the fabled Road of 1,000 Kasbahs. First stop is Skoura Oasis, 96 km or 1.5 hours away, where you'll see Kasbah Ameridhl with its extravagant decorations and mud-brick fortifications. Continue to Ait Benhaddou, 73 km or 1 hour 20 minutes, a UNESCO site that's remained virtually unchanged since the 11th century. This fortified clay village with its grand kasbah served as a filming location for Lawrence of Arabia, Game of Thrones and Gladiator. Explore the winding streets and climb to the hilltop for sweeping views across the surrounding plains.

You'll drive to Marrakech, approximately 6 hours, traveling through Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains. The route offers scenic views and several stops for photos. Dinner is included at your riad, featuring dishes like milk pastilla dessert, accompanied by local musicians performing soft traditional Moroccan music and luth solos.

Marrakech
After breakfast, meet your local guide for a morning tour of the old medina and bustling souks. Check out the tranquil courtyards of Bahia Palace, a splendid mansion built in 1866, filled with the scent of orange blossoms. Visit Koutoubia and Saadian tombs, relics from different eras of Morocco's imperial past. Take a lunch break before exploring the souks for leather goods, Moroccan lamps and traditional metal and wood crafts. Visit a spice maker's workshop to learn about traditional Moroccan spices and herbs, then have a henna tattoo artist create designs on your hand or feet while learning about this ancient tradition. The evening is free to visit Jemaa el Fna, one of the world's largest public squares, which comes alive after dark.

Marrakech to High Atlas Mountains
After breakfast, travel to Asni to visit Kasbah Tamadot in the High Atlas Mountains, 55 km or about 1.5 hours away. The retreat supports local communities through free English lessons, employs local staff and focuses on sustainable development and energy-saving. Spend the afternoon at leisure exploring the kasbah. Landmarks Kasbah Tamadot High Atlas Mountains - Day 13
High Atlas Mountains
You'll spend a full day trekking in the High Atlas Mountains with a picnic lunch. Your guide meets you at 9am at Kasbah Tamadot to begin. Cross the Ait Mizan valley, the main valley in Toubkal National Park that provides water to local farmers. After a pause, trek toward the Asadram pass at 1,600 meters, passing through juniper forests before descending to Irghan village at 1,500 meters where you'll have a picnic lunch in a Berber house. Return via a different route through Imasker village at 1,400 meters before reaching your kasbah. The total hike covers about 9.5 to 10 km with roughly 5.5 to 6 hours of walking.
