My tour guide, Emmanual, of Eyali Tours, was not just a tour guide but a friend. He was accommodating and knowledgeable of all regions I visited -- Accra, Volta, Cape Coast, Kumasi, and Elmina. He also booked some very small, family-owned hotels. I was proud to have come from a people who thought about preserving, acknowledging, and celebrating their history, even with all the negativisms.
