Kathmandu
You'll land at Tribhuvan International Airport where Sherpa Expedition & Trekking staff meet you and drive you to your hotel. After settling in, you get a briefing about the trek ahead with time to ask questions about what's coming.

Kathmandu to Pokhara
The drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara Valley takes 6 to 7 hours. Once you arrive, check into your hotel near Phewa Tal lake. The lakeside area has shops, bars, and restaurants to walk through, and you can take a boat ride on the water if you want.

Pokhara to Jomsom to Kagbeni
A short 25-minute flight takes you from Pokhara to Jomsom with views of the Kali Gandaki Gorge and surrounding peaks like Mt. Dhaulagiri and Machapuchare. From there, you trek for 3 to 4 hours to Kagbeni, where officials check your documents before you enter Upper Mustang. You stay overnight in Kagbeni.

Kagbeni to Chele
Start early to dodge the afternoon winds. In the morning light, you'll see Nilgiri with its orange glow. Walk along the east bank of the Kali Gandaki River through Chhusang Valley, then ascend with views of Kagbeni and Mt. Nilgiri. Trek through the arid Mustang terrain to Tangbe village with its red and whitewashed houses, then head to Chele for the night (3-4 hours).

Chele to Geling
You cross rocky hills to a stone cairn at 3540m/11,614ft, then drop down to Samar village with its chortens and stupas. After that, descend into a canyon, climb to a 3800m/12,467ft ridge, and trek to the remote Shyangmochen Village before continuing to Geling for the night.

Landmarks/POIs Samar Village - Day 6
Geling to Charang
Head up to Nyi La Pass at 3932m/12,900ft and descend on the other side. Follow the Tangmar Chu River past Mani stone walls with Lamaist prayers carved into them. From there, continue to Charang Village where you can check out its impressive five-story Dzong monastery, red Gompa, and Thankas artwork before staying overnight.

Landmarks/POIs Nyi La Pass Charang Dzong Charang Gompa - Day 7
Charang to Lo-Manthang
Trek uphill to Lo-Gekar, home to one of the oldest Tibetan monasteries in the world, older than the famous Samye Gompa in Tibet. After visiting, you travel by horse to Lo-Manthang, passing the ancient walled city before descending to cross a stream and arrive at Lo-Manthang.

Landmarks/POIs Lo-Gekar Gompa Lo-Manthang - Day 8
Lo-Manthang to Tingkhar
Climb to Namgyal Gompa at the top of a peak, then head to Tingkhar northwest of Lo-Manthang. This small village has about 40 houses and offers a quiet stop during your trek.

Landmarks/POIs Namgyal Gompa Tingkhar - Day 9
Tingkhar to Drakmar
Trek uphill to 4070m/13,353ft, then continue to Chogo La Pass at 4320m/14,173ft, the highest point on your trek. Head downhill and cross the Charang River, passing Ghar Gompa at 3839m/12,595ft with its Tibetan religious structures before descending to Drakmar.

Landmarks/POIs Chogo La Pass Ghar Gompa - Day 10
Drakmar to Shyangmochen
Descend past stone walls and fields at Drakmar and continue through Ghami at 3475m/11,401ft, then Jaite at 3820m/12,533ft, and Chhung-Kah. Keep descending to Tama Gaon at 3710m/12,172ft and continue downhill to Shyangmochen.

Shyangmochen to Chhusang or Samar
Trek along a river to Chhusang, or take an alternate route through Samar and stop at the Ranchung Caves, which adds about 30 minutes to the day. Either way, you're heading toward lower elevations and easier terrain.

Landmarks/POIs Ranchung Caves - Day 12
Chhusang to Jomsom
Trek through the valley with Muktinath in the distance, then descend and cross the river using a suspension bridge. This area is known for fossils called Shaligrams, black holy stones found in the Gandaki River. Continue with views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and the Tukuche ranges as you approach Jomsom.

Landmarks/POIs Muktinath - Day 13
Jomsom to Kagbeni
Leave Muktinath and trek through lush meadows with fruit trees and streams, passing through Kagbeni before reaching Jomsom in the Kali Gandaki Valley. Take a short detour to visit Bon Pont Monastery in Lubra, a Bon-Po village with just 14 families and beliefs older than traditional Buddhism. Kagbeni is known for its apple orchards and horticultural heritage.

Jomsom to Pokhara
Head to Jomsom airport for a 15 to 20 minute flight to Pokhara with incredible Himalayan views. Relax this evening and think back on your trek. You can walk along Lakeside or visit the World Peace Pagoda, Bindabasini Temple, Matepani Buddhist Monastery, International Mountain Museum, or head to Devi's Falls.

Kathmandu Departure
Sherpa Expeditions & Trekking staff will pick you up and take you to the airport at least three hours before your final flight departure from Nepal.
