Arrival at Mount Etna
You'll arrive at the airport and head to your hotel on Mount Etna's slopes. After getting settled, you'll have dinner and rest up for the cycling adventure that starts tomorrow.

Mount Etna Mountain Bike Ride
Your guide meets you this morning to start cycling through Mount Etna's volcanic landscape. You'll begin at Piano Vetore on the southern side and ride along Pista Altomontana heading north, passing through lava fields and pine forests. By afternoon you'll reach Pineta Ragabo and descend to Milo for dinner and your overnight stay.

Mount Etna to Castiglione di Sicilia
Today you'll descend from Mount Etna's north side into the River Alcantara valley toward Castiglione di Sicilia. You'll pass through the medieval town of Randazzo and cycle along an ancient Roman road lined with wineries. Stop to see the castle built on an ancient Greek fortress that overlooks the valley. After finishing your ride, you'll have dinner and stay overnight in Castiglione di Sicilia.

Alcantara Valley Exploration
You'll explore the Alcantara Valley by bike, starting with the Cuba Byzantine chapel from the 7th century and the waterfalls nearby. Your route takes you on off-road trails to the Alcantara gorges where the river has carved through towering basalt walls. Later you'll follow the river to San Marco beach for a swim in the Ionian Sea. The ride back goes past the Fiumefreddo river natural reserve, ancient Sicilian farmhouses, and Norman bridges along the way.

Alcantara Valley to Palazzolo
You'll take a van transfer from the Alcantara Valley south toward Sortino, then cycle through the Giarranauti forest on the Pantalica plateau heading toward Ferla. The ride takes you along gentle slopes past dry-stone walls typical of the Iblei mountains and through baroque churches in Ferla. After that you'll descend into the Pantalica and Anapo Valleys nature reserves and follow a converted railway track next to the Anapo river. You'll arrive in Palazzolo by evening for dinner and your overnight stay.

Palazzolo to Noto
You'll cycle from Palazzolo toward Noto through the Iblei Mountain plateau. Along the way you'll visit Palazzolo Acreide, the baroque UNESCO World Heritage town founded by Greeks from Syracuse in 664 B.C., and see its monumental churches including San Paolo and San Sebastiano. Then you'll continue southeast on rural paths through white limestone terrain, passing Mediterranean scrub and wild herbs through the hamlet of Testa dell'Acqua before descending to Noto for dinner and your overnight stay.

- Day 7
Noto to Marzamemi
You'll start with a challenging uphill cycle to the ruins of Noto Antica at 400 meters, the original city destroyed in the 1693 earthquake. After exploring the ancient ruins, you'll descend to modern Noto and cycle through its baroque streets and UNESCO World Heritage churches. Later you'll ride down to white sandy beaches at Eloro, then cycle south along the Ionian Sea past beautiful beaches in Vendicari and San Lorenzo to the fishing village of Marzamemi. You'll finish with an almond granita and relax over dinner for your overnight stay.
