Itinerary
- Day 1
Johannesburg to Nambiti
You'll depart from O.R. Tambo airport or your hotel in Johannesburg and drive to KwaZulu-Natal for the Battlefields Route. After stopping at the cross-shaped Memorial in Volksrust that honors British soldiers, you'll continue on to Nambiti for your first night. An evening game drive follows, giving you a chance to spot the Big 5 as the light starts fading across the reserve.

Nambiti to Ladysmith
This morning brings guided tours of the Ladysmith, Elandslaagte, and Isandlawana Battlefields. You'll have lunch at some point during the day as you move between sites, then head back to Ndaka Safari Lodge for your second night. Before you leave for Winterton in the Drakensberg, there's a morning game drive included to start things off.

- Day 3
Winterton to Drakensberg
You're heading toward the Drakensberg Boys Choir's Wednesday-afternoon concert, but first you'll stop at Thokozisa Lifestyle Centre in Champaign Valley to look at Zulu arts and crafts. Lunch happens at the restaurant there. Before the concert, you can check out either Dragon Rock Reptile Centre or Falcon Ridge, then you'll attend the performance and settle in for the night near Monks Cowl Golf Resort.

Drakensberg to Howick
Start with the Drakensberg Canopy Tour, then you'll move on to the Midlands Meander route. Along the way, you'll pop into the Wine Cellar, Mouse Trap Deli, Marrakesh Cheese and Chocolate Heaven, grab a drink at Bierfassl restaurant, browse Tsonga shoes and bags, and visit the Mandela Monument. Later you'll overnight near Howick after a full day of stops and shopping.

Howick to Dundee
You'll travel to the Dundee-Rorke's Drift area for tours covering the battlefields and historical sites at Blood River, Ncome, and Talana. Throughout the day you'll learn about the Great Trek and how the Voortrekkers moved through South Africa's interior. Lunch is included en route, and you'll finish up your final night in Dundee.
