Itinerary
- Day 1
Lusaka
You'll land in Lusaka and get transferred out to a small lodge on the town's edge. Dinner happens at a local restaurant that evening, giving you your first taste of Zambian food and hospitality to kick things off.
- Day 2
Lusaka to Lower Zambezi
After breakfast, the drive takes you through Lusaka and down the escarpment into the Zambezi valley. Most of the day goes to game drives and boat cruises in Lower Zambezi Park where you can watch wildlife from the water. Later on, you'll catch a sunset boat cruise along the river, which is when the light really shows off the landscape.

Lower Zambezi
More game drives continue through Lower Zambezi Park, this time focusing on spotting wildlife along the river and up on the escarpment. By this point you'll be getting a real sense of the park's rhythm and where animals tend to congregate.

Lower Zambezi to South Luangwa
Early morning transfer gets you to Royal or Jeki Airstrip for a domestic flight to Mfuwe airport. From there, another transfer takes you to your lodge right on the Luangwa River banks. The afternoon is completely free, so you can rest, explore the lodge grounds, or just settle in and watch the river.

South Luangwa
South Luangwa National Park is where you'll spend the next few days. The park is known for its huge populations of wildlife including Thorneycroft's giraffe, Cookson's Gnu, Crawshay Zebra, buffalo, and elephant herds. You'll do two activities daily, which might be game drives, night game drives, or walking safaris depending on what's available. Hippos show up in large numbers, and if you're lucky, you'll spot Carmine bee-eaters hanging around the river banks.
