Itinerary
- Day 1
Cascais
Your hotel pickup gets you to Pena Palace in Sintra, where you'll spend time walking through this fairy-tale castle that sits high above the town. The whitewashed streets of Sintra itself are worth exploring since it's a UNESCO site. From there, you head into the Colares wine region, then stop at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, which gives you a real sense of standing at the edge of the continent. The drive continues along the coast past Guincho Beach and Hell's Mouth before reaching Cascais, a seaside town with an elegant feel. You'll head back to Lisbon following the Estoril Coast, so the whole route keeps the Atlantic views going most of the day.
