- Elizabeth· September 20th, 2024I greatly enjoyed the Scotland Far North - 10 Days tour with TourRadar. The places visited were special, especially the Orkneys and Western Hebrides islands which did not disappoint me. I was lucky to have two tour guides, Martin and Bruce, one for each half of the tour, which was excellent because of the different perspectives I received. They were both very accommodating when my luggage was oversized. All the accommodations were very nice, especially Dalmore Guest House in Inverness. As an out-of-shape individual, all the hosts were exceedingly kind and helped me carry my bag up a variety of very steep stairs. My only complaint was the size of the tour bus. I am a rather tall person and the bus was full for both weeks of the tour. While there was just enough space between my seat and the one in front of me for my legs, I still have scraped knees due to the lack of room.Show moreOn The Go Tours commented on this reviewThank you so much for passing on your feedback!Trip date: August 2024

Asked on March 6th, 2025I would be a solo traveller coming from NZ. I'm in my 50s and never travelled overseas before and wanted to question what the general demographic of people are who go on these trips, and whether there is generally any other solo travellers.
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written March 2025
Generally speaking our demographic on Scotland tours on average is between 35-60, obviously we may have much younger and more mature travellers but majority of clients should be in this age range. These tours attracts couples, group of friends but also a solo travellers.

Asked on January 27th, 2025I am interested in booking either the 5 day Scottish Highlands from Edinburgh or the 10 day Scotland's Far North tours for May 2026. When will booking for May 2026 be available?
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written January 2025
The 2026 dates should be released in spring this year, so we should have the dates in about 3-4 months.

Asked on September 25th, 2024Is the Scotland Far North 10-day tour walking intensive or more driving focused? I'm traveling with 2 or 3 friends in late August 2025, and we want to understand the tour's activity level.
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written September 2024
The tour involves walking around coastal villages and historical towns with plenty of opportunities to explore. While there will be driving between destinations, you'll have many stops to stretch your legs and enjoy the Scottish landscape. Knowledgeable guides will share stories about the areas you visit.

Asked on September 17th, 2024What exactly is a "single guest house"? How does it compare to a four star hotel?
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written September 2024
B&Bs are traditionally small family owned and run properties offering a handful of guest rooms, usually with shared bathroom facilities (ensuite rooms are sometimes available). They are usually residential properties, so they tend to be located on the outskirts of towns and you should be prepared for a 20-30 minute walk to local facilities like pubs and restaurants. It's unusual for a B&B to offer any additional services like concierge, porterage, evening meals or roomservice. Wi-fi is usually, but not always available and it's worth bearing in mind that access can be unreliable in more remote locations.

Traveler•Written September 2024We like this tour but would only choose it if provides two single rooms with a private bath and one room with two beds and a private bath. Our timing would be late August or early September 2025.
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written September 2024
Since COVID most B&B's come with ensuite facilities, however we would be happy to request these for you with our local team should you wish to book.

Asked on September 4th, 2024is that where we start and end trip from? our responsibility to get to/from there so best to get hotel extra night day before? How near to the airport is this bus station?
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written September 2024
All of our Scotland tours pick up, and drop off from a bus stop in St.Andrew's Square in Edinburgh. As the pick up is early in the morning, and the drop off is usually around 630-730pm in the evening, you will likely need to book your own pre/post tour accommodation in Edinburgh as well as make your own arrangements from the airport. Edinburgh has various modes of airport transportation including train, bus and taxi. I would recommend you look at a hotel around the square - or in Old Town Edinburgh (which is a 15 minute walk, or short bus / taxi - but in the heart of the city).
