Itinerary
- Day 1
Puno to Uros Floating Islands to Taquile Island
Your pickup happens around 6:45am from your Puno accommodation, then you'll head to the local harbor to board a motorboat. The Uros Floating Islands are your first stop, where your guide walks you through how the Uros people live, their traditions, and beliefs. You'll get to take a short ride on a traditional reed boat yourself, which gives you a real sense of how they navigate these waters. After that, you're off to Taquile Island where the locals speak Quechua and maintain their traditional way of life. The path up to the main part of the island is narrow but offers nice views of Lake Titicaca and the Bolivian mountains as you walk. Once you're up there, you explore the island with your guide at a relaxed pace. Later on you'll have some free time to wander around on your own before lunch at a local restaurant. The boat trip back to Puno takes you to the main square, where you arrive around 4pm.
