Itinerary
- Day 1
Angkor Archaeological Park
Your hotel pickup starts at 4:30 AM so you can reach Angkor Wat before sunrise. The light breaking over those towers is the main reason for the early start, and it's worth the wake-up call. Once the sun's up, you'll walk through the temple with your guide to understand the carved details and what these spaces meant spiritually. After grabbing breakfast back at the hotel, you're heading into Angkor Thom where you'll see the South Gate, then move on to Bayon Temple and those distinctive stone faces carved into every corner. The day continues with the royal palace temples like Baphuon and Phimeanakas, followed by the Terraces of Elephants and Leper King where ceremonial events once happened. By midday you'll take a lunch break, then continue to Ta Nei, a quieter jungle temple, and Ta Prohm where tree roots have grown right through the structures. Before heading back to your hotel, you'll stop at Banteay Kdei monastery and Prasat Kravan to see the unusual brick carvings there.
