For those with limited time this is a good and varied introductory trek with 3 full days walking, starting from and ending in Kathmandu. It is also very quiet - very few other trekkers. Hotels are surprisingly good. I did this trek in mid-April, visibility was quite poor, and now most trekking trails on Day 3 have been made into roads, this is of course neither the guide or the Tour Operator's fault, I highly recommend Mountain Rock and will be coming back to do another trek with them. Dipak offers great and speedy service in the planning process and takes great care of everything.

Mountain Rock Treks provided an awesome trek and the best guide for the short time frame that we had. We got to see all the highlights provided between Lukla and Tengboche including Everest view hotel, Everest museum, and the Sherpa museum. Outstanding for and great people throughout. The perfect hike for a short time frame.

    Asked on April 5th, 2023

Please may you send me a range of trekking itineraries. Given annual leave restriction with work we would like to complete a optimal day expedition. One which doesn't jeopardise acclimatisation but equally doesn't take unnecessarily long. What is the shortest trekking option 'by days' available?

From my research accommodation up to base camp is in huts with beds. Please confirm the showering facilities available, if at all.

    • Mountain Rock Treks And ExpeditionOperatorWritten April 2023

The shortest trekking option to Everest Base Camp is a 12-day trek, however, keep in mind that it is important to acclimatize properly to prevent altitude sickness. A 14-16 day trek is generally recommended for acclimatization purposes.

    • Mountain Rock Treks And ExpeditionOperatorWritten April 2023

You will need comfortable and sturdy trekking shoes, a waterproof jacket, warm clothing, a hat, gloves, sunscreen, a sleeping bag, and a backpack. It's important to have the proper trekking gear to ensure a comfortable and safe trekking experience.

    • Mountain Rock Treks And ExpeditionOperatorWritten April 2023

The cost of the Everest Base Camp trek per person can vary depending on the trekking company you choose, but generally, it can range from $1200 to $3000 USD per person.

    • Mountain Rock Treks And ExpeditionOperatorWritten April 2023

Trekking permits can be obtained through the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) or the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). The process can take a few days to a week to complete. You can either apply for trekking permits before booking an expedition or have your trekking company handle the permit application process for you.

    • Mountain Rock Treks And ExpeditionOperatorWritten April 2023

Accommodation options during the Everest Base Camp trek are limited to teahouses or lodges, which offer basic amenities such as beds and blankets. Shower facilities are available in most teahouses, but the availability of hot showers can be limited, especially at higher elevations.

    Asked on March 8th, 2023

I had some questions regarding the EBC Trek. We are 2 friends looking to book this trip so wanted to know the following: 1) Does your tour offer different room types in tea houses and guest houses. We would like clean and good accommodation and wondering if you have options to choose from? 2) Will your partner guest/tea houses offer connected bathrooms for the whole trek? 3) How many people are there in a group tour? We are 2 people so can that be considered for a private group tour? If so what would be the price? 4) Can we choose to opt for 2 porters if needed? 5) We are wondering if it is possible to do the return from the trek using a Helicopter in your tours. If so, how much would it cost per person? We don't need to do a private helicopter return ride and will be okay to join a larger group.

Our tour offers different types of accommodation during the trek, including clean and comfortable rooms in tea houses and guest houses. We offer standard and deluxe packages with different accommodation options to choose from. Most of the guest/tea houses on the EBC Trek have shared bathrooms, and only a few have connected bathrooms. We offer both private and group tours. If you would like to book a private tour for just the two of you, we can arrange that for you. You can choose to opt for 2 porters if needed. We recommend keeping the weight of your baggage to a maximum of 20 kg per porter. Yes, it is possible to do return from the trek using a helicopter. The cost of the helicopter ride varies depending on the number of people and availability.
