BOOK THIS TRIP!!!!!! I have been wanting to go to Europe for years but because I don’t have a lot of travelling experience, I was really anxious. I just finished this tour and I can honestly say I this was truly an awesome experience. PROS 1. My Trip Leader was amazing. If you go on a tour ask if it’s going to be Renee because you will truly have a great time! She’s knowleageable, professional and organized. Everyone on the team loved her and she was super friendly and flexible. 2. The Bus Driver was a true professional. Mihai was extremely skilled and I felt super at ease during the whole trip no matter how long the drive was. 3. There was free breakfast every day! I saved a lot of money! 4. My tour group was full of friendly and accepting people. There were 30 Australians and 4 Americans. I was the only Asian (from the Philippines) but I felt so welcomed. 5. It was definitely good value for money. I felt at ease doing the trip because I know everything was prepared for me. It definitely saved me from the hassle of missing trains because the drive days were chances for people to catch up on sleep. CONS 1. I can only think of a couple accommodation that was good and that was the one in Rome (Meininger Hostel), Florence (A&O Firenze) and Venice (Anda Venice). The rest were disappointing cleanliness and space-wise especially Schutzenbach Camping in Switzerland and A&O Mitte in Germany. 2. I was with a big group about 36 people, I think it was too much. I had to wake up really early to make sure to get a window seat on the bus. I also needed to be alert on calling dibs on the lower bunk because you will have bunk beds on all accommodations and I can’t count how many times I trip and hurt my legs climbing up and down. As someone who have read the comments before booking, please take note of these things. 1. If you can book the optional activities yourself, do it cause that’s what I did. I found cheaper deals on Klook or Get your guide (apps). If you prefer to spend the free days yourself, book them yourself. Some of my team mates were complaining how expensive some of the activities were. 2. My trip in April got cancelled and I’ve already booked flights and activities even before they announced that it wasn’t a guaranteed trip. Please be careful about this one. I lost money and got super stressed trying to rebook everything. Somehow, the information on Tourradar is lacking so I suggest that you check the Topdeck website directly. 3. Do not overpack. Bring cash. Bring comfortable shoes. Invest on a good camera. Bring a water bottle. Bring a good travel pillow. Do your research. Be mindful of the time and schedule during the tour (no matter how drunk you are the previous night). You will not regret booking this tour. If possible ask if you can get Renee as a Trip Leader and you’re guaranteed to have an awesome time. Thank you so much Renee and Mihai for giving me a wonderful experience in Europe I’ll never forget! I’ll recommend this trip to everyone I know. More success and happiness to the both of you!

I had a wonderful time on my tour, largely due to the incredible guidance of Jude and driver Ioannis. They made a fantastic team and without them the trip wouldn’t have been the same. Jude went above and beyond, organising informal group events for us, recommending places/food/attractions, helping us when we got into sticky situations. She was such a positive energy and shared anything and everything we could have wanted or needed to know and was really passionate about the travel and the history she was getting to share with us. Ioannis was equally passionate and helpful, providing us with advice on which places to visit, humour to get us through the long bus trips, and expert driving skills making us all feel comfortable whenever we had a long drive day.

Itinerary was awesome, quite fast but got to see lots of great places. As for the tour guide I can't rate our lovely guide Jude high enough! She has an incredible amount of knowledge of the historical events on all the sites, as well as being such a friendly fun person to lead our trip! She made a big difference!!

I recently had the pleasure of being guided by Jude on not one but TWO adventures, and I cannot praise her enough. Her thoughtfulness and resourcefulness during both trips were next to none and she always ensured that every aspect of our trip was meticulously planned and smoothly executed. Even when things didn't go as planned, she remained calm and composed, turning potential setbacks into opportunities for even more memorable experiences. Her sense of humor added a wonderful touch to the journey, keeping the group's spirits high and making every moment enjoyable. Above all, her caring nature stood out. She genuinely looked out for each member of the group, attending to individual needs with kindness and empathy. Jude is a true gem, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional tour leader.

Carolyn was an amazing trip leader. She had so much knowledge to share about each cities/countries we visited. The saddest part was when the trip ended. I would recommend Carolyn to anyone who looks to have a great time and experience on holiday. Can’t wait to go on my next Topdeck and hope that Carolyn will be my next trip leader. Appreciate everything you have done for me Carolyn! Thanks again!

    Transport
    • TopdeckOperatorWritten April 2024

If you wanted to get your own way around, you are more than welcome to. But it would be up to you to find the group every time they travelled. We can't have the Trip Leader leaving the group or on their phone to contact you if you have chosen to leave and get your own way to the destination yourself. We move around a lot so it would be a large additional expense to get around separately and not all cities will have trains available to get you back to the group in time, so just keep that in mind as well.

    Asked on March 5th, 2024

I was curious about the Wi-Fi situation on the tour bus. Does the bus have Wi-Fi, do you have to put up a hotspot yourself or how does that all work?

    Transport
    • TopdeckOperatorWritten March 2024

Our buses are equipped with WIFI however, there are times where this service is unavailable or not working as well as we would like. In these instances, using your own hotspot may be beneficial. But, to answer your question, yes - our buses are equipped with WIFI.
