Just went to NZ and I could literally write a novel, but the main issues were a random entering our dorm at one of the hostels and the tour leader failing to stop in so I had to sort the issue out with the hostel at the time. And more importantly them not taking my medical condition seriously. Taking us for a team dinner without consultation with lighting that would effect my epilepsy and on noting this in the feedback form amongst many other issues like dirty hostels, a tour guide who flirted with younger travellers and much more Sandra from "customer experience" thought I would be happy with an $80 refund for the night interrupted and a 5%discount on my next trip. I'm never travelling with them again and when this was mentioned she noted the discount was a gesture of good will and I should remove myself from the situation, so basically if you have any type of medical issue topdeck doesn't want you to have fun they expect you to eat all meals alone in the hostel just because their tour guides can't ask in advance what's okay. Asked on December 27th, 2024Budget places to eat and do they have cooking groups so you cook in the group you're with? And do you also offer a single room?
TopdeckOperator•Written December 2024While on the tour the Tour Leader can give meal reccommendations, there may be some places that have budget options, however, there are some locations that are visited with limited options. We do not pre organise cooking groups and the ability to cook on the tour will depend on the location they are staying at. We cannot guarantee that all accommodation will have a kitchen space to cook in. For this particular tour we do not offer single rooms, only multi share options. If they are interested in a single room I would recommend out Delve Deep tours, we have a Delve Deep: South Island and Delve Deep: North Island tour as potential options.

All Topdeck trips are designed for and aimed at the 18-39-year-old market. The average age on most of our trips is around 23-25 years old. Most of our trips are based on share accommodation, and our passengers expect to be sharing with fellow travellers of the same age. We have up to 50 passengers on some of our trips and we do need to keep in mind that when they book their trip, they all expect to be travelling with people of the same age group (18-39 years).

The drop off time in Christchurch will be approx 4pm on the final day. For 1 night pre tour accommodation, we currently have the rate of $68 AUD for a spot in a mixed dorm or $178 AUD for a solo room.

Asked on February 26th, 2024Where does the coach pick up from specifically when arriving in Auckland. Also what time do you depart on the day of arriving to and leaving the tour as i need to arrange to fly back to hawks bay napier, and so i wondered if its first thing in the morning or later on in the day?
