Bari
You'll arrive in Bari on your own and settle into your hotel in the city center. After meeting your local guide for a welcome briefing and a drink, the afternoon focuses on the old city. You'll walk past the Swabian Castle exterior, head through the historic orecchiette street, and check out the Cathedral of San Sabino and Basilica of San Nicola. Along the way, you can try local street food like focaccia, sgagliozze, and panzerotto from vendors in the area.

Bari to Trani to Castel del Monte to Matera
The day starts at 9:00 AM when you leave Bari heading to Trani. There you'll see the cathedral right by the sea, wander through the port, and walk the ancient Jewish quarter. After spending time in this quieter seaside town, you'll drive to Castel del Monte, a mysterious castle built by Frederick II in the 13th century that's now a UNESCO site. Your guide explains the historical significance before you transfer to Matera for the night.

Matera
After breakfast, a guided tour of the Sassi district begins at 10:30 AM from Piazza Vittorio Veneto where you'll get panoramic views of the Civita and Sasso Barisano. From there you'll walk through Piazza del Sedile and Via Duomo to reach a belvedere point. You'll visit the rock churches Madonna dell'Idris and San Giovanni Monterrone, plus step inside a traditional cave house. The rest of your afternoon is free, so you can wander around the district on your own.

Matera to Alberobello to Ostuni to Lecce
Following breakfast, you'll transfer to Alberobello, a UNESCO-listed town famous for its trulli cone-shaped houses. At 10:30 AM a guided tour takes you through the Aia Piccola and Rione Monti districts to understand this unique rural architecture. After lunch and some free time, you head to Ostuni, known as 'the white city' because of its whitewashed old town. Your guide shows you the characteristic squares and narrow alleys leading up to the cathedral, and you'll see olive groves extending toward the sea before traveling to Lecce for check-in.

Lecce
After having breakfast, your guided tour of Lecce starts at 10:30 AM from Piazza Sant'Oronzo in front of Caffè Alvino. You'll spend the morning walking through this Baroque city, looking at the ornate palaces and churches, and browsing local craft shops. The route takes you through the ancient village past the Cathedral, Basilica of Santa Croce, and Church of Sant'Irene. By the end of the tour, you'll get to taste pasticciotto, a traditional sweet pastry that Lecce is known for.
