    Basel

    You'll board the Medieval Treasures river cruise ship in Basel and get settled into your luxury stateroom. Dinner happens onboard as you prepare for the week ahead exploring the Rhine River.

  2. Day 2

    Strasbourg

    Strasbourg is on the agenda today, and it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for wine and half-timbered architecture. You can choose between a guided city tour that takes you through Parc de l'Orangerie, the European Parliament, and La Petite France with its 16th-17th century buildings, or opt for a guided bike tour instead. The Cathédrale de Notre Dame is also on the list, where you'll see the famous astronomical clock.

  3. Day 3

    Ludwigshafen to Rüdesheim

    From Ludwigshafen, three excursion options open up. There's the Mannheim Baroque Palace with over 800 exhibits, medieval Speyer with its large Romanesque cathedral and a UNESCO-listed crypt holding eight German emperors' tombs, or the Speyer Technik Museum for something more modern. Later in the day you'll sail to Rüdesheim and join a wine tasting.

    Rüdesheim offers more to explore with your choice of activities. You could visit Siegfried's Mechanical Instrument Cabinet for something unique, take a gondola over the vineyards to the Niederwald Monument, or hike through the vineyard-covered hills around town.

    Miltenberg to Wertheim

    The ship heads to Miltenberg, a medieval town along the Main River with 14th-15th century half-timbered houses and the famous Crooked House. You'll pick between a walking tour, a hike up to Miltenberg Castle for views, or a bike ride along the Main River. After that, you'll sail to Wertheim and can either walk through its city center or visit a pretzel bakery for a tasting.

    Today brings choices. Würzburg is one option, where you can tour the Baroque Residenz Palace, a UNESCO site with impressive interiors and a Tiepolo fresco. Rothenburg offers another route, a well-preserved medieval walled town on the Romantic Road that supposedly inspired Walt Disney. Or you can join a guided bike tour for a more active day.

If you want to stay active, there's a guided bike tour along the Main River from Eltmann into Bamberg's quirky neighborhoods.

    are there any extentions to munich after the cruise

      We have heard from the operator and they do not offer a Munich extension on this itinerary, however they do offer an extension to Prague. A transfer from Nuremberg to Munich would be between 60 and 100 euros per person.

    • For any tour departing before March 20th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after March 20th, 2026, a minimum payment of $575 is required to confirm your booking with AmaWaterways. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 95 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • The following cards are accepted for "AmaWaterways" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
