- NWNoah· May 16th, 2025We had an incredible time trekking Kilimanjaro's Machame trail in Tanzania. Coming right through the rainy season it meant that not many climbers were making the trek and the trail was not packed making it intimate and quite beautiful. Generally the trek starts off as easy but gradually got tougher as we progressed By the time we got Karanga camp we were struggling. The support from our crew was instrumental in getting us safely the summit and in good health. They were all nice, friendly and attentive to our needs. They took care of camps, food and our wellbeing. I was very impressed by Brian the team Leader for organizing and marshalling everyone towards our successful trek. Thank you Zara Tanzania Adventures for the lovely trek.Show moreTrip date: May 2025
- MMarine· May 6th, 2025Zara Tanzania Adventures is an excellent organization. We got first class service from Senior guide Martin and his crew. Martin was a great leader and knew the mountain well and led us with a good pace that was comfortable for everyone. It seemed slow at first but I later came to appreciate how important it was to conserve strength in the initial stages. He was attentive to how our bodies were responding to the high altitude and would make sure we were fit to continue with regular health checks. The food was really good and freshly prepared, we always had fresh hot meals prepared from scratch by the camp cook and not the canned stuff. The trek was not easy but we got the summit with their excellent support. We had an incredible time and owe it all to the good work done by Zara Tanzania AdventuresShow moreTrip date: April 2025
- CClaire· May 5th, 2025We are not long home from our expedition in Tanzania with Zara Tanzania Adventures. I have so many positive things to say about the trip because our hosts did a phenomenal job with us. To start with Clinton our lead guide was an all rounded mountain climbing expert who is experienced from the many trips he has guided safely up Kilimanjaro. His knowledge of the route and what to do at every juncture made the otherwise difficult trek seem easy. All his decisions were guided first by out safety and wellbeing and this was clear at all times. He took our health and wellbeing very seriously. The crew maintained great conditions for our group with comfortable accommodations, great food and great working gear. I strongly recommend Zara Tanzania Adventures for Kilimanjaro Trekking. They also do safari tours and ZanzibarShow moreTrip date: April 2025
- TCTameka· April 24th, 2025This was one lovely adventure, tough but well worth it with the views and great trekking experience. Our group of 3 climbers had 2 guides, 9 porters and a cook supporting us. Lema the lead guide was smart, knowledgeable and very organized. He covered every aspect of the trek and provided well for it. The crew worked well together and made us comfortable, safe and made us fee like part of the team. They knew the route well and could answer any of our questions. The trail has some very good views and we enjoyed it a lot. There was so much to see as we went for the summit and looking back at the trek, I have to appreciate at how well the hosts had prepared for the trek. The food was excellent, tents waterproof and spacious and we had everything that we needed to make our trek doable.Show moreTrip date: April 2025
- FFabian· April 15th, 2025We had a wonderful time on our Kilimanjaro trek. The course was tough and luckily we had an amazing support system from Zara. Our guides Clinton and Brian were experienced and really nice. They took excellent care of us and kept us safe throughout the trek. They had prepared well for the trek and had enough supplies and the right equipment for the entire duration. Special thanks to Maurice the Chef for the wonderful food. You were amazing. It rained on some days however it was mostly clear and we enjoyed the sights a lot. Asante sana for your patience and care. We really appreciate you guysShow moreTrip date: April 2025
- CCamelia· April 14th, 2025My 2 brothers and I were joined by 2 other climbers on a Kilimanjaro trek with Zara Tanzania Adventures. Our group was led by the talented and top rated Yesse Lema from the start to the summit and back to Moshi. He led an able team of three other guides ( Juma, Musa and Rajab), fifteen porters and 2 kitchen staff. They did more than their level best to keep us safe and comfortable in the tough mountain terrain. Their constant attention on our individual well being with the regular health checks and close guidance as we went up the mountain was very reassuring. They made sure that we were well kitted and prepped for each phase of the trek and this continued through all the stages. We had very good equipment that kept us dry, comfortable and decent all through. We even had a portable private toilet! The views were really great that I would never forget them. Thank you all for a great experience.Show moreTrip date: April 2025
- LDLara· April 10th, 2025We had an incredible trip doing Kilimanjaro with Zara Tanzania Adventures. Lema was an outstanding leader and guide. His is the reason we had such a beautiful experience on Kilimanjaro. He organized the crew of guides, porters and cook so that they worked towards our comfort and successful ascent to the summit. They took care of all our welfare from the health checks, great meals and nice tents. We learnt so much about the mountain, animals and Tanzania in general from this crew. Trekking is tough but it an experience unlike any other I have ever had. A huge vote of thanks to the Zara Tanzania Adventures team. You are the best.Show moreTrip date: April 2025

- Madison· April 3rd, 2025The trekking experience was incredible. The Zara team had done a wonderful job of putting together the whole trekking expedition. We joined a group with 4 other climbers and I must say it was well planned and perfectly executed. The course is very beautiful however it is not easy to reach the summit. We were well take care of on the trail and in the campsites. There was enough food and the equipment was great. We all reached the summit and made it back safely to Moshi thanks to the professional crew. Lema you deserve all the accolades you get because you were an awesome captain on the trek.Show moreTrip date: March 2025
- WZWojciech· March 30th, 2025Every aspect of our trek was impeccable. From the moment we landed in Kilimanjaro airport to the mountain and up to our departure yesterday we were in good hands. I want to commend the crew of guides, porters and cook for a job well done. They took excellent care of us in guiding us on the trail, helping us settle in the campsites along the way and creating the best conditions in the tough environment. I appreciate what might seem like small comforts like the portable toilet, hot water bottles, sleeping mats, a spacious mess tent..... and the great food, because these all these things were brought to the mountain by the porters. We are truly grateful to the entire Zara Tanzania Adventures team for the wonderful experience. I highly recommend them for Kilimanjaro trekking.Show moreTrip date: March 2025

Traveler•Written January 2025When I look at the program I see that there are three days for acclimatization between Barnco and Barafu Camps. Is this right? Will this extra acclimitzation ensure that we reach the summit?
- Zara Tours (Zara Tanzania Adventures)Operator•Written January 2025
of course yes The more slowly you ascend, the more time your body has to acclimatize, and therefore the better your chances of summiting successfully.

Traveler•Written January 2025How safe is it for someone under 10 years?
- Zara Tours (Zara Tanzania Adventures)Operator•Written January 2025
The Kilimanjaro National Park officials determined the formal minimum age to summit, although due to the risks of trekking at altitude, it is not recommended to go on this trek with a youngster. As a result, most tour operators limit this journey to youngsters aged 12 and higher.
