Itinerary
- Day 1
Arequipa
You'll arrive at Arequipa Airport and get picked up for your hotel transfer. Once you're settled, spend time walking through the main square where the neo-Renaissance cathedral stands alongside Santa Catalina convent, an enclosed village that's been around for centuries. Before wrapping up the evening, head to Yanahuara and Carmen Alto neighborhoods, which give you good views of El Misti volcano.

Arequipa to Colca Valley
After breakfast, you're driving through Yura district toward Colca Valley, passing through dramatic canyon landscapes and mountain terrain. The route takes you through Pampa Canahuas Reserve where vicuñas roam, and then across the pampas to Los Andes scenic lookout at 4,800 meters/15,748 feet where the surrounding volcanoes come into view. Grab lunch in Chivay, then transfer to your hotel in Colca Valley for the rest of the afternoon on your own.

Colca Valley
Starting after breakfast, you head to Condor Cross lookout to see Colca Valley, one of the world's deepest canyons at over 4,160 meters/13,648 feet deep. Watch for condors soaring overhead in the canyon. From there, you'll descend to the valley floor and explore rustic colonial towns like Chivay, Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma, and Yanque along the River Colca. Stop at Antahuilque and Choquetico lookouts for different valley perspectives, then drive back to Arequipa after lunch.
