- DDDiane· October 7th, 2024The tour was a nice overview of the main sites of Tunisia. Most of the hotels were excellent and the food was generally good with the exception of the first travel day. The chicken entrée was not edible. Neither Debbie nor I received any information on meeting time and place for the first day. At 7am, we both received a phone call from the guide that we should be meeting NOW. Both of us had requested info for several days, but never received it. All communication after the first day was clear and concise. Hotels were great though I would have liked to taste more authentic Tunisian food rather than just buffets. - SKSUHANTHI· June 24th, 2024I was a little nervous booking this tour with Tunisie Voyages, as I have been on many tours over 30 years and only used well known tour companies based in UK, US and Australia, and also because I was a 62 yr old female travelling solo. So made my choice based entirely on the reviews. However, any initial anxiety was allayed by Ekbel , who must work 24/7 as he promptly responded to all my queries, some trivial too, from Australia. At Tunis airport would have preferred to see pickup with my name or 'Tunise Voyages' instead of 'Tourradar'. So maybe let one know in advance what to look for. The itinerary and most hotels were all as expected. Meals in nearly all the hotels were good and adequate. Nothing much to do in Tozeur if you were not interested in experiencing the desert option like me. Would be good to include at least a free lift into the Medina, which I had to ask for as neither driver nor guide were doing anything else that morning. The driver, Mr Shokri, was v attentive and punctual. However, I was disappointed with the guide Mohmmed who fell short of my expectations as a tour guide. Hence, I feel I missed out on the most important reason why one prefers to go on a guided tour. He mumbles and I found it v difficult to understand his English. Also, because he was speaking in monotones all the time from the front of the car, and at times I did not know whether he was addressing the driver in Arabic or speaking to me in English. He also had a habit of walking ahead at sites/museums and giving a commentary without stopping at the various points of interest like he wanted to get it over and done with, so had to keep up with him. Otherwise, he was friendly and attentive. The itinerary was rich and diverse, allowing us to experience different natural landscapes such as the desert, forests, and the sea, as well as immersing ourselves in Tunisia's rich cultural and historical heritage. Our guide, Ferri, provided thorough explanations throughout the journey, with particularly vivid descriptions of the exhibits at the Bardo Museum, showcasing Tunisia's ancient history across different periods. One of the most unforgettable highlights was our driver, Ali. He was the sweetest and most attentive driver I've ever encountered. Despite being 65 years old, Ali effortlessly navigated through the desert and in the cities.
