Itinerary
- Day 1
Vientiane
You'll arrive in Vientiane and get settled at your hotel. After checking in, the rest of the day is yours to wander around the city at your own pace and get a feel for the place.
- Day 2
Vientiane
This morning you'll see Pha That Luang, the former royal temple Haw Pha Kaeo, and Wat Si Saket, which is believed to be the city's oldest surviving wat. Then you'll head to Buddha Park to check out over 200 Hindu and Buddhist sculptures, followed by a stop at the Cope Centre to learn about their work supporting victims of unexploded bombs and mines. By evening, you'll have dinner beside the Mekong River and catch the sunset.

Vientiane to Vang Vieng
You'll travel north through countryside to Vang Vieng on the Nam Song River. In the afternoon, you'll cross the river and wander through scenic areas passing villages and rice fields. After seeing the blue lagoon and Tham Pou Kham cave with its chambers and formations, you can swim and relax. Later you'll explore Tham Jang caves and visit Ban Na Khae village to learn about the Hmong and Kamu communities living there.

- Day 4
Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang
After breakfast, you'll head to the station for a one-hour express train to Luang Prabang, arriving early afternoon. This UNESCO-recognized city has gleaming temple roofs, colonial architecture, and mountains in the background. You'll spot orange-robed monks on quiet streets. The rest of the day is free to explore on your own.

- Day 5
Luang Prabang
Rise early to see the daily procession of saffron-clad monks collecting alms. You'll tour the old quarter in vintage tuk tuks, stopping at the Morning Market and Wat Xiengthong temple. Then visit the former Royal Palace (now a museum) to see the sacred Pha Bang Buddha statue. You'll meet locals from ethnic minority villages, then finish at Khouangsi waterfall where you can walk forest trails or swim in turquoise pools.

- Day 6
Luang Prabang to Hanoi
Spend the morning at Living Land Farm doing hands-on farming work. You'll try ploughing fields with a water buffalo and learn how rice is planted. Enjoy a Laotian lunch at the Rice House with views of rice terraces and mountains. Return to Luang Prabang with free time before your evening flight to Hanoi.

- Day 7
Hanoi
You have the whole day free in Hanoi. Walk around tree-lined avenues, lakes, ancient pagodas, and the old town. You can visit Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, his House on Stilts, and the Temple of Literature from the 11th century. At 17:00 there's a Vietnam welcome meeting where you'll meet other group members.

Hanoi to Halong Bay
After breakfast, you'll take a cyclo ride through the French Quarter seeing the Opera House and Ly Thai To Park. Then transfer to Halong Bay and board a traditional junk boat to explore the jade waters and karst islands. You'll have lunch onboard, visit Trinh Nu Cave, and do kayaking and swimming. There's a cooking demonstration on the sundeck before dinner.

- Day 9
Halong Bay to Hanoi to Hue
Early risers can do Tai Chi or get a traditional massage on the sundeck. Before heading back, you'll explore Sung Sot Cave (Surprise Grotto), a large cave with two spectacular chambers. Return to Hanoi mid-afternoon and walk around the old quarter. Later, board the Reunification Express sleeper train to Hue (or fly if you prefer).

- Day 10
Hue
Upon arrival in Hue, take a guided tour of Thien Mu Pagoda with its 21-metre-high tower and the oldest monastery. Visit the citadel containing the Imperial Purple Palace modeled after Beijing's Forbidden City. Explore the Royal Tombs in the countryside, including Emperor Tu Duc's elaborate mausoleum. An optional sunset cruise on the Perfume River is available this evening (paid locally).

- Day 11
Hue to Hoi An
You'll travel the scenic Hai Van Pass with views of lush hills and beautiful beaches. Stop to walk along China Beach, then visit the grottoes at Thuy Son Mountain, the largest of the five Marble Mountains. Explore the enormous Huyen Khong cave with its rock Buddha. Continue to Hoi An and take a walking tour of the old town visiting the Chinese Assembly Hall, pagodas, merchants' homes, and the Japanese Covered Bridge.

Hoi An
Take a leisurely bike ride through countryside to Tra Que village (alternative transportation available if you prefer not to cycle). You'll do hands-on farming and learn age-old practices. Join an interactive cooking demonstration where you'll prepare lunch. Return to Hoi An in the afternoon with free time to relax.

Hoi An
This day is free to spend however you'd like. Relax by the hotel pool, stroll around town, or spend time at the beach. If you want to do something more, optional excursions include a day trip to the UNESCO-listed My Son sanctuary or Ba Na Hills mountain resort with the world's second longest cable car.

- Day 14
Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City
Early morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City, then drive to the Mekong Delta. From Vinh Long, cruise downstream on a traditional sampan through waterways. Visit local cottage industries making coco candies, paper, and popcorn. Have lunch in a traditional wooden home on Dong Hoa Hiep Island.

Mekong Delta to Ho Chi Minh City
Early start to visit Cai Rang Floating Market, the largest on the Mekong Delta. Watch sampans loaded with fruits and vegetables being tossed between boats at great speeds. Drive to Ho Chi Minh City and take a walking tour seeing the Old Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral. Visit the War Remnants Museum. Evening is free at leisure.

Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh
Visit Cu Chi Tunnels to learn about underground life during the war. Drive to the Cambodian border at Moc Bai/Bavet and continue to Phnom Penh, Cambodia's bustling capital known for historic sites, architecture, and restaurants.

Phnom Penh
Spend the full day sightseeing in Phnom Penh. Tour the National Museum of Arts with the world's finest collection of Khmer sculpture. Visit the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda containing diamond-encrusted Buddha statues and a floor paved with five tons of silver. See Tuol Seng (Security Prison S21) and the Killing Fields.

Check out and fly to Siem Reap. After freshening up, begin touring Angkor Thom, the ancient fortified city surrounded by a moat. Explore Bayon Temple, Baphuon, royal enclosure, and the Terraces of the Elephants and Leper King. Finish at Tra Prohm Temple where tree roots envelop crumbling towers. This evening attend the Phare Cambodian Circus, an NGO training street kids.

Early risers can see Angkor Wat at sunrise in golden light, or join later to explore this mother of all temples with thousands of intricate wall carvings. Travel to Banteay Srei Temple known for its pink sandstone carvings. Stop at Preak Dak village to support a tree-planting initiative, then visit Kampong Phluk's three stilted villages on Tonle Sap Lake. Return to Siem Reap for a free afternoon.

Say goodbye to Cambodia. Transfer to Siem Reap airport for your flight to Bangkok. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in the centre of Thailand's bustling capital.

Bangkok
Short transfer to Bangkok Flower Market where restaurants and florists stock up daily. Head to the Grand Palace, the religious and royal heart of Thailand. Take a tuk tuk to Wat Pho with its famous reclining Buddha. After lunch, board a longtail boat to explore the klongs crisscrossing the city. End at Khao San Road with stalls, restaurants, and bars. The afternoon and evening are free. On your final day, check out and transfer to the airport for departure.
