Both involve moderate to challenging uphill trekking, but they are among the most scenic parts of the trip. The tour includes a visit to Machu Picchu, and travelers are required to purchase an official entrance ticket in advance. For the hikes to Humantay Lake and Rainbow Mountain, it is possible to hire a horse for the uphill portion. This service is optional, must be arranged on-site, and is paid directly to local horse handlers.

The entrance ticket to the Machu Picchu citadel is included in the tour package. Circuit 2 is subject to availability, and as of now, entrance tickets are available starting from September onwards. The horse rental for the Humantay Lake and Rainbow mountain hike costs approximately 90 to 100 soles (around 25 to 28 USD).
