Jill· October 12th, 2025As a solo traveler, I appreciated how well Zack and his team at Exciting Africa Holidays took care of me. From airport pickup to the final drop-off, everything was perfectly timed. The van was comfortable, with great visibility for spotting animals. The meals were freshly cooked, with generous portions and variety. I stayed in cozy lodges surrounded by nature, and nights were peaceful under starry skies. Zack was friendly, respectful, and made me feel safe throughout. I saw everything I hoped for—lions, hippos, zebras, and giraffes. The experience was personal, authentic, and absolutely worth every coin.Show moreTrip date: September 2025- KMKaty· August 16th, 2025I’m quite late writing my review, but Exciting Africa Holdays Ltd deserves to be recognized for the great work they do. I had the trip of a lifetime and Evelyn & her husband who own and run the business are the force behind my amazing journey. All of the logistics were well organized, if there were any hiccups they were available by phone. All of our guides were EXCELLENT and the organization of our transport & accommodation was on point. I literally had the time of my life. This 13 day tour literally covers a lot of ground (I think all in all we were in 9 national parks). I would do it again in a heartbeat. My time & experiences on this trip brought the joy & excitement of a lifetime.Show moreTrip date: August 2023
- JBJerry· June 15th, 2025My dad and I recently went on a once-in-a-lifetime safari with Exciting Africa Holiday based in Nairobi, Kenya—and it truly exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we landed, everything was well-organized and stress-free. Our guides, Meta and Zack, were not only incredibly knowledgeable about wildlife and local culture, but also super friendly and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the trip. We visited several national parks and had breathtaking encounters with elephants, lions, giraffes, and even rhinos. The landscapes were stunning, and Meta and Zack always knew the perfect spots for viewing and photography. They shared fascinating facts and stories that made the experience even more enriching. What really stood out was the personal touch—they tailored the trip to our pace and interests. Whether it was early morning game drives or quiet evenings watching the sunset, everything was just perfect. You could tell they genuinely cared about making the trip memorable. If you're planning a trip to Kenya, I highly recommend Exciting Africa Holiday. They gave us memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you Meta and Zack for an unforgettable adventure! — A happy travelerShow moreTrip date: June 2025

Ting-Yu· September 1st, 2024TLDR: Prepare to compromise as customers, as the company will not compromise on anything negative on their end. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. Here is a summary below, starting from positive: +1 star destination: for the amazing animals you will see! Beautiful landscape, plenty of wildlife around every corner. All the different national parks and reserves offer a different experience and wildlife. definitely ask your driver to take your time to explore them, you never know what you will see! +1 star for the in-ground staff: From helping you with local sims to cooking delicious meals, helping you reach destinations and driving, and guiding and singing along with our group in the car etc! -1 star false advertising: on Day 4, we (x2) were transferred from our original driver to another before heading to Amboseli National Park (NP). We had x6 people in our first van, and x6 in the second (new) one. HOWEVER, during a pit stop to get some fuel, our driver informed us that another traveler would be joining us, making it 7 people in the van. This was totally unacceptable as I SPECIFICALLY filtered the safaris by the amount of people, since I know once it gets too crowded, you will miss out on some actions. This was raised to the Exciting Africa manager on Whatsapp, where we asked to be transferred to a different vehicle, which we received an utterly disappointing and dismissive response (Summary: bear with us, you will have 7 in the van but it is big enough. The driver can show you how to stand). As the passenger in the back seat, you can stand up, but cannot last for even a few minutes as the back of the middle seat will tightly press against your body this whole time. You WILL end up with a sore back and neck (as I have tried multiple times to stand for prolonged periods), and there are many possibilities for a neck injury during the rougher terrain drives. -1 star Communication: Almost no communication about things like itinerary changes throughout the trip. For example, we only found out that the order of NP visits will be completely different at our first Tanzanian briefing (i.e. instead of 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 it is now 1 -> 3 -> 4 -> 2). Although we did visit all the different places as advertised, at least some level of notice should be expected before changing the itinerary, since many times campsite staff asks where you are going the next day, which most of us will have no clue as the itinerary was changed drastically without giving us at least a PDF or written notice informing of the new schedule. Some of our accommodations were also different from the ones listed here on the website. Also, other travelers with a different agent would Whatsapp you to check to see if you're okay, have any questions about crossing the border, etc. There was no message unless we initiated, such as a demand or question mentioned previously. We also asked for a receipt, in which the company said they would provide but did not. -1 star Organisation: This will overlap with the previous point. Some places will only provide limited food, and you WILL go to sleep starving sometimes. Also, if things go wrong somewhere else, YOU will get affected too. For example, another jeep about 200km north of our camp broke down, and our driver had to leave us after lunch to rescue them, with another driver coming to us. On the day where we leave Serengeti, the schedule is to have an early morning drive, then lunch, before heading out slowly on a game drive while we make our way to Ngorongoro (long drive). Our new driver arrived around 1-2h after we finished lunch. We wanted to have a relaxed time leaving Serengeti but were told we were in a rush and there would be no stops until our destination. We lost a relaxed game drive because SOMEONE ELSE encountered problems. We also started the day late (about 8 am when we left camp), whereas the previous day left at 6 am. If it was known the driver would arrive late (as they usually do, being on time usually isn't as strict as in other countries), then the company could've compromised on their end and started the day earlier? Also, the jeep that picked us up was much older, and we had to drive WITHOUT HEADLIGHT to our destination. The odometer also does not work, and the car had a problem at the end that we had to get all dropped off at a resting place next to the road, to get picked up by someone in a day-to-day car, for the 2.5h drive with 6 people + luggage. As a side note, we talked to 2 other travelers who had a similar itinerary as us, yet they paid >$1000 USD less than us? they also had more luxury accommodations in Tanzania? Also for optional activities (besides from hot air balloon), if you opt-out, you will probably just sit somewhere for 1-2h doing nothing. Your overall experience will depend on the driver too. Some are more talkative, some quieter, and some like to explain or drive slow/fast. I am not too sure if this whole experience is shared throughout other companies in the two countries, but this was our experience overall.Show moreTrip date: August 2024
Monique· July 16th, 2024If you are a solo female and want to be in a group tour, ie the same group from start to finish, then this is not for you. I am a 60-year-old woman and was travelling solo. I travel a lot by myself but, this time, I wanted to be in a group. Before booking, I deliberately asked the agency about the number of people joining and stressed that at no point, did I want to be left on my own but want to be in a group setting. And I was reassured of this. This was not the case, however. And, at the end, I was indeed left on my own to travel from Arusha to Nairobi, going through the horrible immigration Tanzania/Kenya immigration process. The two stars I'm giving is for the drivers/guides because they deserve them. But, the organisation from the agency was hopeless. In 13 days of the "tour" I had 9 different drivers and was moved several times to join different people. All the drivers were very nice, kind and sympathetic to my issue but when I tried to take it up with the office, dealing with a guy called Albert, he would brush my issue and even laugh. At one point he put the phone down on me, which I thought was very rude. They were very vague about who was picking me up from the hotel in Arusha. In the end, a guy who doesn't speak English turned up in an empty bus. I was not going to get onto a bus by myself not knowing who or where. The agency "representative" did not turn up either. I refused to get on the bus until someone spoke to me in English from the shuttle bus office. I was quite concerned/worried/afraid because the empty bus was going all over Arusha (I had no idea where I was) and finally arrived at the Arusha bus station. The guy I spoke to earlier put me on a shuttle bus from Arusha to Nairobi (7 hours) - of course a shuttle bus will have other people on it, but none of the people I had been travelling with, from the several groups I joined. I was left alone with with a group of strangers, and they weren't tourists, as Albert kept insisting. He told me that the driver of the shuttle would help me through the immigration process. He didn't. The police officers at the border helped me. When I arrived at Nairobi bus station - horrible, horrible place with lots of men gawping at you and trying to get your attention for a "taxi" - I refused to get off the bus until my driver arrived. Luckily he was there within minutes. Besides that, the itinerary changed in the Tanzania part. They just change things to suit themselves and whatever benefits them. True, I saw all the parks and animals but my plan was to be in a certain place for my 60th birthday and, of course, I wasn't because they changed the itinerary around. Also, the agency does not notify you beforehand that in some of the sites there may be no hot water and/or electricity. So be prepared for cold showers and take torches with you. True, this was a budget safari, but it still cost a lot of money for me, money which I had been saving for years. So, to summarize : 1) this is NOT a tour but a series of mini excursions joined together, with different people with every change 2) if you're a solo female, it's not nice to be left alone without fellow travellers/companions. 3) be prepared for no hot water/electricity.Show moreTrip date: June 2024- JKJenani Neelkanth· February 27th, 2024Embarking on a 13-day budget camping safari through Kenya and Tanzania was an adventure that exceeded all expectations. From the vast plains of the Serengeti to the majestic landscapes of the Maasai Mara, every moment was filled with awe-inspiring sights, thrilling wildlife encounters, and unforgettable experiences. Our journey began in Nairobi, where we were warmly welcomed by our knowledgeable guides from Exciting Africa Holidays. From the very start, their passion for wildlife and dedication to providing an authentic safari experience shone through. With a small group of like-minded travelers, we set off on our adventure, ready to explore the best of East Africa on a budget. The first stop on our itinerary was the iconic Maasai Mara National Reserve. Camping under the starlit sky in the heart of the Mara allowed us to immerse ourselves fully in the sights and sounds of the wilderness. Our days were spent traversing the savannah in search of the Big Five, and we were not disappointed. From herds of elephants to prides of lions, every game drive brought us closer to nature in its rawest form. Crossing the border into Tanzania, we ventured into the legendary Serengeti National Park. The endless plains stretched as far as the eye could see, dotted with acacia trees and grazing wildlife. Witnessing the Great Migration was a highlight of our journey, as thousands of wildebeests and zebras thundered across the plains in search of greener pastures. Camping amidst the Serengeti's vastness was a humbling experience, reminding us of the true essence of Africa. Continuing our adventure, we explored the wonders of Ngorongoro Crater, a natural amphitheater teeming with wildlife. Descending into the crater, we were greeted by a plethora of species, from rhinos to hippos, against the backdrop of the crater's towering walls. Camping on the crater rim provided us with panoramic views of this natural wonder, creating memories that will last a lifetime. As our journey came to an end, we made our way to Amboseli National Park, where the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro loomed large on the horizon. The sight of elephants roaming freely against the snow-capped peak was a fitting finale to our East African adventure. Gathering around the campfire one last time, we reflected on the incredible experiences we shared and the friendships we forged along the way. In conclusion, the 13-day budget camping safari through Kenya and Tanzania was a dream come true for budget-conscious travelers seeking an authentic African adventure. With Exciting Africa Holidays /Tourradar, every aspect of the journey was meticulously planned, from comfortable camping accommodations to unforgettable wildlife encounters. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the best of East Africa without breaking the bank.Show moreTrip date: December 2023

Our safari drives around the lake afforded us close encounters with rhinos, giraffes, and elusive leopards, making each moment a thrilling discovery. Hell's Gate National Park offered a unique opportunity to explore on foot, immersing ourselves in the rugged beauty of the landscape. Hiking through the dramatic gorges and towering cliffs, we felt a sense of exhilaration as we discovered natural hot springs and encountered a variety of wildlife up close.
