Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu

    You'll arrive in Kathmandu and meet your guide who'll give you a warm welcome. After heading to your hotel, there's an evening briefing covering what to expect on the trek. Get to bed early since tomorrow starts before dawn.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu to Phakding

    Early morning flight takes you to Lukla, where every Everest trek begins. You'll meet your full trekking team and start walking through trails that gradually descend toward Cheplung village with views of the sacred Mt. Khumbila. Continue down to Phakding for your overnight stay.

  3. Day 3

    Phakding to Namche Bazaar

    Walk through pine forests heading north up the Benkar valley. You'll cross the Dudh Koshi River and pass through Chumoa and Monjo villages before entering Everest National Park. After a suspension bridge near Jorsale, a steep ascent alongside rivers brings you to Namche Bazaar, the largest town in the Khumbu region.

  4. Day 4

    Namche Bazaar

    Spend the day in Namche Bazaar checking out the government offices, ATMs, shops, restaurants and colorful market. Hike up early to catch sunrise over the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. You can optionally trek to Khumjung village and Hillary School or visit a monastery with a yeti scalp on display.

  5. Day 5

    Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

    Start with an easy walk to Phunki, then ascend toward Tengboche village and its famous monastery, the largest in the Everest region. The location sits within Sagarmatha National Park with panoramic mountain views. If you arrive by 3:00 pm, you might observe a Buddhist religious ceremony inside the monastery.

  6. Day 6

    Tengboche to Dingboche

    Descend through lush forests of birch, conifer and rhododendron with views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam. Walk downhill to Debuche, cross the Imja River to Pangboche, then take the upper trail to see Pangboche Monastery. Continue to the Imja Valley and Lobuche River before ascending to Dingboche, a village surrounded by barley, potato and buckwheat fields.

  7. Day 7

    Dingboche

    This is your rest day for altitude acclimatization. Explore Dingboche at your own pace or book one of the optional hikes to nearby peaks and valleys to help your body adjust to the elevation.

  8. Day 8

    Dingboche to Lobuche

    You'll ascend the steep terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier through boulder-filled slopes to reach Chupki Lhara, a ridge with prayer flags and memorial stones. Cross the Khumbu Glacier moraine with views of Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, Mahalangur Himal and Mt. Nuptse before reaching Lobuche.

  9. Day 9

    Lobuche to Gorak Shep

    Trek to Everest Base Camp mostly on glacier paths with rough terrain and meandering sections. You'll see incredible melt patterns and gently rounded ice towers on the upper Khumbu glacier. Views of Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori surround you before you walk back to Gorak Shep for the night.

  10. Day 10

    Gorak Shep to Pheriche

    Wake early in the dark and cold to hike Kala Patthar on a fairly steep trail. From the summit you'll see Mt. Everest and other Himalayan peaks including Lingtren, Khumbutse and Changtse. Those visiting base camp have an early breakfast first. Return to Gorak Shep for lunch, then descend to Pheriche for the night.

  11. Day 11

    Pheriche to Namche Bazaar

    Lose about 2,000 feet in elevation today on a trail with ups and downs. Descend through hillsides filled with rhododendron and juniper trees, cross a bridge over Dudh Koshi River, then rapidly descend through pine forest where mountain goats and pheasants live. Reach Sansa for views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Nuptse, then wind back to Namche Bazaar.

  12. Day 12

    Namche Bazaar to Lukla

    Begin your trek to Lukla on rocky terrain, mostly downhill alongside the Dudh Koshi River. Cross several suspension bridges, pass monasteries and villages, then arrive in Lukla. Spend the rest of the day resting since this is your last night in the mountains before flying back.

  13. Day 13

    Lukla to Kathmandu

    Catch an early morning flight back to Kathmandu after your mountain trek. Once you arrive, you can relax or go souvenir shopping, and your guides can help with either. In the evening, celebrate your successful journey with a farewell dinner.

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
