Itinerary
- Day 1
Windhoek to Sossusvlei
Hotel pickup happens at 9:00am, then you'll head south through Spreetshoogte Pass toward Sossusvlei with desert views along the way. There's a viewpoint stop to take in the Namib Desert landscape, followed by lunch at Solitaire oasis. You should arrive at your lodge or campsite between 3-4pm. Since it'll be quite hot, you'll have time to relax by the pool before turning in early for the night.

Landmarks/POIs Spreetshoogte Pass Sossusvlei Namib Desert Solitaire oasis - Day 2
Sossusvlei
Starting early for sunrise at Sesriem Gate and Sossusvlei, you'll climb Dune 45 to see the orange landscape stretching out. An off-road drive takes you to Dead Vlei where ancient dried acacia trees stand out against the white pan. If you're interested, there's a chance to climb Big Daddy or Big Mama dune. Back at Sesriem for lunch and a 1-2 hour break to escape the heat, then a short trip to Sesriem Canyon once things cool down a bit.

Sossusvlei to Swakopmund
Today moves you from desert to coast, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn and driving through Gaub and Kuiseb passes. The landscape shifts noticeably as you pass through Kuiseb Canyon descending toward the coast. In Walvis Bay, you'll check out flamingos and birds in the lagoons, grab lunch there, then continue to Swakopmund for the night. Dinner is on your own, so you can find a local restaurant that appeals to you.

Swakopmund to Windhoek
A long drive back to Windhoek takes you through towns and rural areas, with a stop in Okahandja to visit Namibia's largest wood carving market. Local co-operatives there sell authentic Namibian souvenirs if you want to pick up something to take home. You'll arrive in Windhoek by 4:00pm and get dropped at your accommodation.
