Africa Venture Safaris commented on this reviewThank you very much Paula for your review, we appreciate. Thanks Nancy.Trip date: September 2025
Lance· September 16th, 2025ITERNARY - Highlights mention a sailing tour at Lake Naivasha and walking safari on Crescent Island, these are NOT part of the tour. - The Tanzanian side of the tour is organized by another company which is less well managed and caused delays and reduced safaris. + You have enough time per park and don't feel like you are in a constant hurry. + We saw 4 of the big 5 in the first park, and the last (Rhino) in the second park, which seemed to be common like that. + Our driver in Kenya, John, was amazing. He spoke great english, knew where to go for the best animal spotting, and every time asked if everyone is ok before continueing on to the next animals. + We got an optional toilet break every 3-4 hours during safaris as well as drives between parks. + The iternary is followed really well for the Kenyan part of the tour, we got about 25h of safari in Kenya. * I got sick on day 7 and we ultimately decided mid-day 8 to end to tour early and go back to Nairobi to have time to rest and get fit before the flight home. PRICE + Once I got sick and wanted to get back to Nairobi, it was organized extremely quickly and no extra costs were charged. * The park fees which are not included were 800USD (280USD of those for the Tanzanian parks). If you ask them, you can pay this online beforehand. * The optional village visit costs 15USD (was nice, not a must imo), and the hot air balloon safari costs 480USD (we skipped it). * We booked the tour in february for 3300 EUR p.p., when we looked in August the price had dropped to 2100EUR p.p.. ACCOMODATION & FOOD + We had warm water and a private shower and toilet at all accomodations. + We had proper beds at all accomodations + All accomodations had wifi, the hotels even had wifi in the rooms + The was pretty much the same every time: rice + green beans / carrot / cabbage + some cubed meat. Sometimes with slight variations / additions. + The lunch boxed had yoghurt, a sandwich, some fruit, a chicken leg, a muffin, juice, water, and chips. So quite some choice. * We didnt experience the basic camping as we went back due to me feeling ill. SUPPORT + They reply within a few days to question about the tour before it begins + During the tour it is easy to get in contact with them via Whatsapp * Unfortunately we noticed our driver in Tanzania was drunk, and when we told the organization they sent a new driver over no questions asked. The same happened for the car + driver when the car broke down. Unfortunately on our day 8 that happened twice killing that days safari, even for those who continued the tour. * Once I decided we wanted to go back to Nairobi because I felt ill they planned everything and sent a driver to pick us up and bring us to the Hotel in Arusha to continue to Nairobi the next morning. They even wanted to pay for the Uber to our Hotel once we arrived in Nairobi. We were never asked to pay anything additional, I guess they cancelled it out with the costs saved from the last few days of the tour we skipped, and we find that a great solution! RECOMMENDATION Personally, I would recommend Africa Venture Safaris but keep it at the Kenyan tour. You see plenty animals during that tour and it is the part where they are in control of the quality. Maybe see if you can get that sailing and walking safari as well as that would be a nice change from all the car safaris. Also we only spotted a single mosquito in Kenya whereas we counted hundreds in Tanzania.Show more

Thank you Nancy.Trip date: August 2024 - DTDeborah· August 2nd, 2024I gave a four star rating because of ghosts from TourRadar. Their communication skills need improvement. However, the drivers/guides, managers, staff, everyone we met in person were exceptional and deserve a 5 star rating. They made our trip comfortable and exceptional by meeting our every need. We could not have been happier.Show moreTrip date: August 2024
- LOLuis· August 2nd, 2024I’m giving a five star rating because of the fantastic people who made this trip amazing. The drivers, staff from the hotels and campsites were exceptional. However, the manager from the luxury campsite in Sarengeti and Sylvia were exceptional by making our journey as comfortable as possible. We could not have asked for better people, including the driver named Julius from Tanzania. There are no words to describe or express our gratitude for these people, who we have labeled as our angels.Show more

MARTIN· July 30th, 2024We did the 12 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania Safari and we had some great experiences and we visited a number of iconic game parks. We had four different guides on our safari and three of them were excellent. The other guide was good but not very communicative. The game parks are out of this world and we saw sights that you can only see in Africa. The people were very friendly wherever we went and we felt very safe. We had three nights in a tent but otherwise the accommodation was good and the camp food was very good.We added two additional nights in Zanzibar which was not so good and we would not recommend it. The Zanzibar leg was badly communicated, we did not receive an itinerary and for some reason our tour operator only booked one way flights to Zanzibar. We would recomend that travellers request a detailed itinerary of their trip to avoid any confusion.Show more
Africa Venture Safaris commented on this reviewThank you very much Martin, we are sorry for the miscommunication on the last day in Zanzibar. We are happy that you two enjoyed your safari with the Best of Kenya and Tanzania.Trip date: July 2024
Natalia· March 15th, 2024It was friendly guide, perfect clean car, comfortable hotels, a lot of animals (sometimes hippo comes to hotel room windows), Big Five challenge completed.Show more
Africa Venture Safaris commented on this reviewThank you very much Natalia. It was great having you. Looking forward to seeing you again in end July with your family. Thank you NancyTrip date: February 2024- SZSonja· November 25th, 2023I agree with an review by Norbert from 30.10.2023. We booked the so-called "Luxury Lodge Safari". However, there was very little that was luxurious about the safari. 1. cars were not in good condition. Car in Kenya was run down, tires without tread, garbage from previous drivers still to be found. Not suitable for safaris in the rainy season. Could not drive on some roads at all. Very bumpy ride. Transfer from the border to Arusha was more like a junk car. In Tanzania we at least had a suitable Landcruiser, but even that was of a poorer category. 2. communication before the booking went smoothly and was very friendly. After booking, I sometimes had to wait over a week for an answer. In addition, we were not informed in advance about changes to the program. I don't know whether this was the driver's job, but at least we only received sparse information and often had to chase after the answers, which is not much fun on vacation. Communication was rather poor. 3. our driver in Kenya was not very communicative. He sometimes gave wrong and dubious answers to questions. Unfortunately, he didn't always get the right angle for a good photo and was always in a hurry to get back on the road. Overall the route was very nice. Second driver was entertaining and took us to the animals. We also saw lots of animals. Lodges on average quite nice. Whether they were always luxurious is debatable. But overall they were fine. Everything was friendly so far, but didn't meet our expectations at all. Order is passed on to subcontractors, good ratings and "Gold Label" on Tourradar misleading. After our complaint on the first days, the company made an effort to accommodate us with some compensation (after repeated requests from our side), which we gratefully accepted and were pleased about. Nevertheless, the trip had nothing to do with luxury and fell well short of our expectations.Show more
Africa Venture Safaris commented on this reviewThank you very much for your review. It was very unfortunate that the weather was at its worst when you did your safari. Nobody expected El nino to be in control. All guides were advised not to go off road, or else they get stuck. Luxury vehicle's... Show moreTrip date: November 2023
