Itinerary
- Day 1
Mollepata to Salkantay Pampa
Your pickup happens early at 4:30 am from the hotel, then you'll drive for three hours toward the trailhead with a breakfast stop in Mollepata. Once there, you'll meet your porters and horsemen before starting the trek. The hike to Humantay Lake takes about three hours and brings you to 4,200m where the turquoise water is really something to see. After exploring, you'll head down to Soraypampa for lunch, then climb uphill for two hours to Salkantay Pampa where your tents are already set up for the night with mountain views all around.

- Day 2
Salkantay Pass to Collpapampa
A hot breakfast happens in your tent with coffee or coca tea, then the real work starts with the climb to Salkantay Pass at 4,630m. You'll participate in a shaman-led ceremony here, an offering to Pachamama (Mother Earth). From there, it's a two-hour walk to Wayraqmachay for lunch before you descend for about three hours to Collpapampa, a warm cloud forest village where you'll camp. The evening includes a massage and dinner to help you recover from the day's effort.

Collpapampa to Llaqtapata
After breakfast in the village, you'll trek for three hours through the Cloud Forest surrounded by green vegetation, crossing bridges and passing waterfalls plus fields of granadilla and banana plants. Lucmabamba is where you'll arrive next, and you'll help prepare a traditional Pachamanca hot stone barbecue and tour an organic coffee farm to learn about harvesting before brewing your own cup. Later that afternoon, you'll follow an ancient Inca Trail for about three hours to the Llaqtapata ruins where Machu Picchu comes into view for the first time. You'll settle into a rustic lodge for the night.

Llaqtapata to Aguas Calientes
You'll wake up to see Machu Picchu before having breakfast with your trekking team. The final hike takes five hours down to Aguas Calientes with stops at the Sundial in Hidroelectrica and time to walk through Mandor Botanical Gardens and the Machu Picchu Mountain area. By evening, you're at a comfortable 4-star hotel in Aguas Calientes for your last night on the trek.

Machu Picchu and Return to Cusco
An early bus ride takes you to Machu Picchu to catch the sunrise, then a guided tour runs for two to three hours as you walk through temples, palaces, and terraces. Lunch happens at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge, after which you'll board the Vistadome Observatory train for the scenic ride back to Ollantaytambo. A private van then drives you to Cusco to finish the journey.
