Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Pattale
Your driver picks you up from your hotel in Kathmandu and you'll head out in a private jeep toward Pattale in Solukhumbu (if you're traveling solo, you'll share the vehicle with other travelers). The drive takes about 7 hours and climbs steadily, gaining significant elevation as you reach 2625m. It's a long day on the road, so settle in and watch the landscape change as you leave the valley behind.
- Start point
- Kathmandu, Bagmati, Nepal (Hotel Kathmandu Pick Up (Only Thamel or Boudha area), 05:00 - 07:00)
Landmarks Kathmandu Solukhumbu - Day 2
Pattale
This is an easier day on foot. You'll walk through areas where you won't see many other tourists, which means you get to watch local farmers actually working their fields instead of just passing by. The mountain views are there too. Later you'll stay at a family-run Sherpa homestay, so you'll get a real sense of how people live in this region.
Included Activities
- Easy day hike through non-tourist area with views of local farming and mountain scenery
- Day 3
Pattale to Pikey Peak High Camp
After breakfast, you're hiking toward Japre, a small settlement with a monastery sitting right next to your teahouse. If you feel like it, you can spin the large prayer wheel there. From Japre, the trek continues through several villages and settlements as you make your way to Pikey Peak high camp at 3615m. Plan on about 6 hours of trekking for this stretch.
Included Activities
- Trek to Japre with monastery visit
- Trek to Pikey Peak High Camp (3615 m)
Optional Activities
- Spin the prayer wheel at Japre monastery for good luck and karma
Landmarks Japre Monastery - Day 4
Pikey Peak High Camp
Today is an acclimatization day, so your body can adjust to the higher altitude. You'll walk around the area visiting a few small settlements, which gives you a chance to move without pushing too hard. It's a good opportunity to experience the quiet and natural setting of this place without the pressure of covering lots of ground.
Included Activities
- Exploration of area around Pikey Peak High Camp
- Day 5
Pikey Peak
Set your alarm early because you're climbing Pikey Peak to catch the sunrise over the Himalayas. On a clear morning, you'll see the range stretching from Kanchenjunga in the east all the way to Dhaulagiri in the west. After you come back down, you'll have breakfast at Pikey base camp, then take an alternate route down to Jhasmane Bhanyang.

At Ringmo settlement you'll stop and take a break, then finish the remaining hike to Phaplu, which is the main village in this area. Phaplu is where local people come to shop and take care of business, so it's more of an actual community than a trekking hub.
Included Activities

- Day 9
Phaplu to Kathmandu
Your trek is done, so you'll drive back to Kathmandu by private jeep. If you're traveling solo, you'll share the vehicle with other trekkers who finished around the same time. The return drive retraces your route back to the capital, so you'll have time to reflect on everything you saw and experienced.
