Asked on February 7th, 2023Can you tell me the distance and elevation of each day's hike? And can you name a specific hotel/accommodation so I can get an idea of the standard you like to use? My wife and I are used to hiking 4-8 mile hikes and up to 300m.
- Intrepid TravelOperator•Written February 2023
Hiking in the Lake District is an original-style tour; expect 3-star accommodation on average. The Derwentwater Hotel in Keswick, Cumbria is the joining/finishing point. Day walks range from 5-21 kilometres (3-13 miles) with elevation gains between 100-970 metres (32-3182 feet).

Asked on May 10th, 2022can you please send me a packing list for the summer months
- Intrepid TravelOperator•Written May 2022
We recommend you pack as lightly as possible and make sure that you are able to carry and lift your own luggage, and walk with it for short distances. As well as your underwear, toothbrush and other items you always need to pack for travel, below are some items that you specifically need for this trip. You need to bring your main piece of luggage as well as a small to medium backpack for day walking (20-25 litres). One with waist strap would be most comfortable for all included walks. Essentials include: Day pack, appropriate walking clothing, warm jacket, fleece, wind and waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, hiking boots, water bottle, sun protection, toiletries. Recommended: Personal medical kit, walking poles, camera, travel wipes. Optional: Torch/flashlight, ear plugs, eye mask, book, journal, music player. Try to avoid bringing unnecessary valuables and bring copies of important documents.
