Clients should be advised to pay for optional excursions in Chilean pesos w herever possible. We paid 15000 pesos on Easter Island where the initially quoted price was $US30

The tour was so successful thanks to two main reasons: Alex was a fantastic tour guide and you really have an asset having him working for you. He has a wealth of knowledge, is easy going and speaks good English. The second reason was the very small group (7 in total, 2 couples and 3 singles). This made everything so much easier - no delays, easy to get a table for all in any of the many restaurants we explored. The itinerary was full on, yes flying a lot to the north, south and west. I would have preferred to stay overnight in Punta Arenas (due to the very late arrival of the flight) and drive the 3 hours to Puerto Natales the next morning and straight to Torres del Paine.

It was an expensive holiday but in an expensive country and included many internal flights so I assume it was a fair price.

Chile is one of the best countries that I've ever visited. The diversity of the different landscapes, the jaw-dropping scenery, the welcoming people and it's fascinating history make it well worth the long journey to get there. I'll definitely be going back! The only downside is the cost, it's an expensive trip and whilst there we went through a lot of extra money on food, drink etc. Anything Explore can do to make it as economic as possible would I'm sure be appreciated by future guests.

Thanks for your fantastic review! Chile is quite spectacular. The costs are something that we review continuously in Chile, and two years ago we did amend the itinerary to try and bring the costs down. However, the fact is that it is an expensive... Show more
