  Clients should be advised to pay for optional excursions in Chilean pesos w herever possible. We paid 15000 pesos on Easter Island where the initially quoted price was $US30

  There is so much travelling, you really need to make the most of the time at each of the destinations. Make sure you understand exactly what is included in the itinerary and what free time there is and think how you will use this free time. When considering the price, add in the cost of the 'optional' activities, as generally you will do them - either because they are 'must dos' or simply there is nothing else to do! Book on a star gazing trip in San Pedro. Take the public bus down the road from Puerta Varas to Frutillar for a couple of hours.

  The tour was so successful thanks to two main reasons: Alex was a fantastic tour guide and you really have an asset having him working for you. He has a wealth of knowledge, is easy going and speaks good English. The second reason was the very small group (7 in total, 2 couples and 3 singles). This made everything so much easier - no delays, easy to get a table for all in any of the many restaurants we explored. The itinerary was full on, yes flying a lot to the north, south and west. I would have preferred to stay overnight in Punta Arenas (due to the very late arrival of the flight) and drive the 3 hours to Puerto Natales the next morning and straight to Torres del Paine.

  Only that the schedule was rushed given the distances covered and the number of activities planned in a two week period. Really needs to be amended to a three week trip.
