They said ATMs only set the airport. We found there were ATMs in the large towns we went through. This means Two places outside the capital during the trip. The tour leader said it would be s nightmare to get money others then by ATM outside the capital. He was educated and respectful, spoke English, French and German fluently. Extremely classy and gentlemanly. Asked on January 16th, 2024I am loving the look of this trip but feel it lacks enough time to snorkel/dive/ enjoy the beaches of Madagascar. Is there anyway of adding on a few days in Nosy be? Or another beach destination that's recommended? Acutely aware that I will probably only visit Madagascar once in my life and I want it to be out of this world.

On our "Madagascar: The Lost Continent" tour there is a free day on Day 11 and Day 12 to enjoy the beach. Alternatively we could assist you with adding on post accommodation to enjoy some beach leisure days at your own pace.

The most important thing for me to know beforehand, since this is a hiking/trekking trip, is, if we are expected to bring backpacks, carry them all of the trek, and if we need to bring our own sleeping bags, mosquito nets etc?

Equipment: Sleeping Bag needed, 3/4 season comfort rating (temperature 0°C to 10°C). Sleeping Mat recommended. Porters will carry main luggage during trekking. You'll need a trek bag (max 18kg) and a small day backpack for daily essentials. Pack layers for varying temperatures: waterproof jacket, warm layers, and clothing suitable for different climate zones.
