Bizarrely, one of the highlights of this trip was what went wrong! We had torrential rains, which stopped us from following the original itinerary and nearly scuppered our chances of visiting the Gobi Desert, but with the bus getting stuck, and the efforts of the driver and our tour leader to unstick it, along with the 'adventure' that followed, it was memorable and a proper piece of adventure travel!

Staying in an eco-Gerry camp with hand pumped showers and foot pumped wash basin. Steppe eagles on every fence post. Vast empty landscapes and wide skies. Watching an 8year old boy drive off to get help when our bus got stuck in mud. A new dinosaur museum near to the area where dinosaur eggs were found. The list goes on.
