Arrival
You'll arrive at the campsite and get settled for your first night. Your CEO and the rest of the group will meet up at the Red Chilli Bar, where there's a beer terrace and pool-side bar to hang out at. This is a good time to relax and start getting to know everyone before things get going.

Equator to Lake Bunyonyi
Today you'll cross the equator in the Lando on your way to Lake Bunyonyi, also called the 'place of many little birds'. The lake sits surrounded by steep terraced hillsides that look a bit like Asia, and it has 29 islands scattered around it. What makes it special is that it's one of the few East African lakes without crocodiles or hippos, so you can actually swim in the water without worry.

Mountain Gorilla Trek
This is the day for your mountain gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You'll hike deep into the jungle through volcano forests with a park ranger looking for these animals. The hike difficulty can vary depending on where the gorillas are that day, but seeing them in person makes whatever effort you put in completely worth it.

Lake Bunyonyi
You've got the day to explore Lake Bunyonyi on your own schedule. Early on, you can watch the morning mist rise off the water, then choose what you want to do from there. Swimming, hiking, canoeing, bird watching, or a motorboat tour are all options. Later in the evening, the group gets back together to share stories about the gorilla tracking from yesterday.

Lake Bunyonyi to Kalinzu Forest Reserve
You'll travel north through the Ugandan countryside toward Kalinzu Forest Reserve, which sits right next to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive takes you through open savannah, areas with swamps around Lake George, and the large Maramagambo Forest. There's a lot to check out once you get there.

Kalinzu Forest to Lake Mburo
Get up early for a chimpanzee tracking excursion in Kalinzu Forest Reserve with a ranger leading the way. After you finish exploring the jungle, there's a visit to a tea plantation. Then you'll head to Lake Mburo. In the afternoon, you can book a boat cruise on the lake if you want, or walk around and explore the local area instead.

Lake Mburo to Jinja
You'll cross the equator again in the Lando heading back south. Uganda is actually one of the few places where you can cross this line by land. Along the way, stop at the AidChild Equation Café & Gallery for a meal, which is supported by G Adventures. From there, continue on to Jinja, known as Uganda's adventure capital.

Jinja
Spend today in Jinja exploring on your own or with others from the group. This adventure capital has plenty to do: raft down the White Nile River, mountain bike through the hills around town, or check out the local market. Keep an eye out for monkeys and other wildlife around the edges of the town.

Jinja to Eldoret
Today you'll leave Uganda and cross into Kenya, heading toward Eldoret. This is a travel day where the group hangs out together and camps under the stars overnight. It's a stopping point between two longer driving stretches.

Eldoret to Nairobi
This driving day is more relaxed, giving everyone time to recover from yesterday's long stretch. You'll ride through the Kenyan countryside headed to Nairobi. It's a good time to nap, chat with people, or even have a mini dance party in the Lando to make the drive go faster.

Nairobi to Arusha
You'll travel through the semi-arid lands of the Maasai people on your way to Arusha, Tanzania. Mount Kilimanjaro comes into view in the distance, and it's quite a sight. The group swaps stories and gets ready for the safari adventure that's coming up next.

Serengeti National Park
Head out on a wildlife safari drive into the Serengeti, one of Africa's most famous national parks. You'll see vast golden plains with thorny acacia trees, plenty of wildlife, and rivers full of hippos. This starts a 3-day and 2-night experience in the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro
Early morning safari in the Serengeti catches the sunrise and all the animal activity that comes with it. After breaking down camp, you'll head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which is famous for having some of Africa's best wildlife viewing. Set up camp in the late afternoon so you can spend time enjoying the views from the crater rim.

Ngorongoro Crater
You'll go down to the crater floor for one more safari experience in what people call Africa's 'Garden of Eden'. Have your camera ready because wildlife is everywhere here. The enclosed ecosystem creates its own environment with rich grasslands, swamps, acacia forests, and Lake Makat. Later in the morning, you'll head back to Arusha, talking about what you saw along the way.

Arusha to Dar es Salaam
Leave Arusha early and watch the Tanzanian countryside go by as the Indian Ocean comes into view. Look out for Mount Kilimanjaro along the route. Dar es Salaam started as a fishing village in the mid-1800s before it became a major port and trading center. You'll spend the night here before heading to Zanzibar tomorrow.

Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar
Wake up in Dar es Salaam and take the ferry to Zanzibar. The island has beaches that might make you think about staying forever. This Tanzanian archipelago has a unique mix of cultures and history. After arriving, there's a Stone Town orientation walk to help you get your bearings on this historic island.

Stone Town to Jambiani
Explore the heart of Zanzibar by wandering through Stone Town's winding unpaved alleyways. You'll see ornate balconies and enormous wooden carved doors throughout the narrow streets and squares. It's easy to get a bit lost, which is part of the fun. Browse tinga-tinga paintings, antique shops, colorful printed cloths, carved chests, and spice stalls. Later, you'll transfer to Jambiani for a few relaxing days on the beach.

Jambiani
Wake up in paradise and explore this cultural crossroads where Africa meets Arabia with the Indian Ocean right there. The day is completely yours to decide what to do. Go diving, grab snorkeling gear, take a sailing trip, or just lounge on the beach. Zanzibar's tropical setting and unique culture make for a really enjoyable East African experience.

Departure
Getting yourself away from Jambiani's beauty will be your toughest task today. You'll travel back across the island to Stone Town to explore the historic heart one more time. The tour ends in the late morning with a group transfer from the beach.
