Rome
You'll arrive in Rome and get settled into your accommodation in the Eternal City. Spend your first day wandering the ancient streets on your own schedule, getting a feel for the place at your own pace. By evening, you'll meet up with your Travel Director for dinner to kick things off.

Rome
A Local Specialist joins you for a full day exploring Rome's main attractions. Start at the Vatican Museums where you'll see Michelangelo's frescoed ceiling in the Sistine Chapel, then head to the Colosseum for a guided walk through Ancient Rome. After that, the afternoon is yours to wander Rome's piazzas or relax at a café.

Rome to Venice
You'll travel north through Italy's scenic landscape, passing hilltop towns like Orte and Orvieto as the route climbs through the Apennine Mountains. The drive covers some beautiful terrain, and you'll arrive in Venice by evening, settling in for the night in this unique lagoon city.

- Day 4
Venice
Your day in Venice starts at a glassblowing workshop where you can watch artisans at work creating delicate Venetian glass pieces. Next comes a private cruise along the waterways to St. Mark's Square, passing ferries and gondolas while seeing the Byzantine Basilica, Bridge of Sighs, and the ornate Doge's Palace. The afternoon is free to walk through Venice's narrow streets or grab a refreshing spritz.

You'll travel south to Bologna where a Local Specialist shows you around the city's vibrant red-tiled houses and medieval Renaissance architecture. From there, continue on to Florence. This evening, you have the option to join a group dinner featuring regional food and wine out in the Tuscan countryside.

Florence
A Local Specialist leads you through Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. You'll see the multi-colored Duomo with Brunelleschi's dome and the gilded doors of the Baptistery. Afternoon is yours to explore on your own, visiting Michelangelo's David at the Academy, climbing to Piazza Michelangelo for city views, or checking out Palazzo Vecchio. Later, you'll connect with locals on a Be My Guest experience at a working Tuscan estate.

Florence to Pompeii to Sorrento
Travel south to Pompeii and join a Local Specialist for a guided walk through the ancient Roman town preserved by Mount Vesuvius's eruption in 79 AD. You'll walk through remarkably preserved streets, homes, and public buildings. After that, continue to Sorrento, a charming town perched above the Bay of Naples. Check in for a two-night stay and enjoy a relaxed dinner with fellow travelers.

An optional boat cruise takes you around Capri's waters to see the Faraglioni rocks and White Grotto sea cave. Later, travel north back to Rome for your final night and enjoy a last dinner with your Travel Director and group to reflect on your Italian journey.
