Itinerary

Beijing
Your flight lands at Beijing airport where you'll meet your local guide by the exit. After you collect your luggage and get through customs, you'll head to the hotel to check in. From there, the rest of the day is open for you to walk around and get familiar with the city on your own schedule.

Beijing
Start at Tiananmen Square and then move on to the Forbidden City to see its ancient architecture up close. You'll have a welcome lunch at a popular restaurant, and then spend the afternoon at the Temple of Heaven. Later this evening, you'll catch an acrobatic show at the Red Theater.

Beijing
Head out to Mutianyu Great Wall for the day, with a round-trip cable car and red wine included for a group toast on the wall. Lunch is something you'll arrange at one of the nearby restaurants. On the way back, you'll stop at the Bird's Nest Olympic Stadium for photos, then explore Hutong alleys by rickshaw and visit a local family home.

Beijing to Xi'an
Visit the Summer Palace in the morning, then grab lunch before boarding the high-speed train from Beijing to Xi'an. The train ride takes about 4.5 to 5.5 hours, giving you a chance to see how modern China's rail system works. When you arrive in Xi'an, your driver and guide will take you to your hotel.

Xi'an
Start your morning at the Terracotta Army to see the incredible scale and craftsmanship. You'll visit the discoverer's home and then make your own mini clay warrior in a traditional cave dwelling with help from a local artisan. In the afternoon, check out the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Tonight, you'll have a Dumpling Dinner and watch a Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Performance.

Xi'an to Zhangjiajie
Spend the morning at the City Wall area watching local people do morning exercises in City Wall Park, then join in a one-hour Tai Chi class. You'll bike around the old city wall and then explore the Muslim Quarter to try local food. Your guide will transfer you to the airport for a late evening flight to Zhangjiajie.

Zhangjiajie
After breakfast, take a shuttle bus to the Bailong Elevator, which gets you to Yuanjiajie Scenic Area in 88 seconds. You'll have lunch at a mountain village restaurant, then head to Yangjiajie to see the Natural Great Wall. Later you'll ride the eco-bus to Tianzi Mountain, take the cable car down, and return to your hotel.

Zhangjiajie to Shanghai
Take the Tianmen Mountain Cableway up to the peak in about half an hour, then descend by escalator to Tianmen Cave. Use more escalators to reach Tianmen Square for panoramic views, then take the express cable car down. From there, you'll transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai.

In the afternoon, visit the Bund and take a one-hour cruise along the Huangpu River before returning to your hotel.
