It's a 6-day tour with two overnight stays, nothing more and nothing less. It's actually cheeky to ask for more over the Christmas period than during the year, as you can't see much with four hours of daylight and a lot of things are closed over the holidays. The guide provided superficial information about Iceland and didn't answer any detailed questions. The ice cave was totally overcrowded and when I asked about scheduling and possible time slots, I was told "we Icelanders don't like rules". I would not book this trip again.

The trip was amazing I am a detailed planning kind of person so it was very hard to sit back and let someone else do the work and get little information back in return without having to ask a bunch of questions along the way. But overall I would do it again. It was spectacular

We enjoyed a 6 Day RingTour. Our guide-Gunnar— was excellent. He provided great insights to our many tour stops. We visited waterfalls, went on a whale watch, glacier climb, horse farm and several hikes. We saw many spectacular vistas!

It was rxcellent, but maybe a few too many waterfalls. Some were spectacular , but some only exciting if someone never saw one.

We enjoyed our trip. The guide was knowledgeable and used this to his advantage as unforeseen weather conditions required quick adjustments to the itinerary. The biggest issue for us was the change to the itinerary after booking, so be aware that is a possibility for all. Some of the accommodation, especially those owned by Arctic Adventures, was simply unsuitable and unacceptable for a trip with this price tag. However, we appreciate their efforts to make our experience as positive as it could be, given the circumstances.

We had a wonderful tour with Freysteinn as out guide. Our group was 14 and from 8 different countries. Everyone was easy to travel with and not too annoying. The itinerary was followed except for he took us to a puffin roosting place and that was really great! Whale watching in May is not the best. Luckily, there were two whales who stayed behind and didn't migrate. We saw one of them. Walking on the glacier was quite an experience and luckily we were not very cold. We had the rental coats and pants that helped. The accommodations at two stops were quite spare, but adequate (2 Adventure Lodges). The coach was clean and comfortable and our driver handled the road expertly. The only negative thing at all with this tour is that Freysteinn was very difficult to understand through the PA system on the bus. Not sure if he spoke too close to the mike or what, but all of the tour participants had difficulty in the bus. He has a strong Icelandic accent. In spite of that problem, we were able to glean enough information to know what was going on. He really did take good care of us! I highly recommend Arctic Adventures. It is NOT a luxury tour, but it was exactly what we wanted.

Also I am vegetarian- no eggs, no fish, no poultry. R there meal options?

    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten June 2025

Some of the hotels may have the AC's and all of them have heaters. The average weather temperature in Iceland, during summer is 8°C to 14°C (46.4°F to 57.2°F). We do not provide additional services like accommodation (before or after the adventure) or airport transfers. If you decide to share your room with another traveler, you will be accommodated in a twin room with 2 separate beds. All of our rooms have private bathrooms. We do not arrange flights, that has to be done by the customers themselves. As we do not provide any food during the tour, you will have breakfasts at the hotels you will be staying during the tour. The breakfasts are served in a buffet style. Our guide will stop by gas stations, caffes or restaurants for lunch and at the end of each day, the guide will ask the whole group whether there's anyone who would like to join for dinner and book a table at the restaurants of the hotels you will be staying for the night. In all cases, you will be able to choose the most suitable foods for yourself.
