The hotels were all very nice, especially those located directly by the sea – waking up to the sound of the ocean was simply amazing. Sri Lanka is a beautiful and diverse country, and we were able to see and experience a lot during our journey. From lush landscapes and ancient temples to vibrant cities and peaceful beaches, the variety truly impressed us. A special thanks goes to Mr. Manjula, our driver. He is not only a very skilled and safe driver but also incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of his country. He always took the time to answer our questions and adapted the trip to our individual wishes. It is very difficult. Card payments cannot be made at any local sites controlled by the government agencies. For example, Elephant Orphanage/National parks, Sigiriya fortress etc. Card payments can only be made at certain stations for tourism activities promoted by private agencies. The best way is keeping cash on hand.
