Itinerary
- Day 1
Hanoi to Sapa
You'll get picked up from Hanoi Old Quarter and take a bus heading north into the mountains toward Sapa Town. After lunch at a local restaurant, the trekking starts with a 9 km walk through Y Linh Ho village, past rice terraces, and along Muong Hoa Stream. By late afternoon you'll reach the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai and then head to Ta Van Village where you're staying with the Dzay family in their homestay. There's time to catch the sunset, help with dinner prep, and if you're interested, you can visit a local bar in the evening.

Sapa to Hanoi
Start the morning with breakfast, then you have the option to join a cooking class learning how to make Pho and Nem Cuon for $7 per person. Next comes a trek through bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai village, about 4 km that takes around 2 hours, where you'll see the red Dzao people and take in panoramic views. Back at the bungalow you can shower before lunch between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm. After that, a van or car picks you up and takes you to the bus station with some free time to explore Sapa Town or do some shopping. The bus departs for Hanoi with two rest stops during the journey, and you'll need to arrange your own transportation from there to your hotel.
