The destination, the summit experience, and the fabulous Rongai Route were all incredible - and were all enhanced with thanks to the CEO's and G Fighters who were amazing. Their service and support was completely intuitive and friendly, and they were a large part of why I managed to summit Kilimanjaro. Well done team! The only negative was the food that seemed to be difficult to get right - but that is only a small part of an incredible trip.

I?m still trying to process everything at the moment, but the trip more than fulfilled my expectations, after having waited over 2 years to get going! The CEOs Sam, Sadam (Simba) & Eli were the perfect combination & would recommend the 3-pack to all customers hiking Kili. They worked together as one in pure harmony & when split, they were equally competent and so, so attentive. I really can?t recommend them enough. They made sure our worries & pre-occupations were addressed quickly & calmly and were always on hand to support, motivate & congratulate. I?d like to mention also Bob & Justin from the G fighters who lead is to the summit - they were simply incredible, along with CEOs instilling a sense of calm and reality in every situation. Should also mention Obama the chef who did a great job providing decent meals and also catering to special dietary needs. Robert the waiter too deserves merit as do all the G fighters we met. An amazing bunch of people.

This was an awesome trip! Gerald and his dream team of CEOs (Roland, Said and Sadam) took a really good care of our group. Their constant positivity and happiness was contagious and I could not have wished for a better experience on this trip. Further, the tour was very well organized, meals were tasty and nutritious, and the CEO team always knew what was needed without asking. The entire support team worked really hard but they made it seem easy. If it wasn't for them, we would not have gotten to summit. It was a great pleasure to know and travel with Gerald's dream team. Would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to hike Mt. Kilimanjaro.

    Erika

    Asked on November 17th, 2024

I'm considering a Kilimanjaro trek and would like some advice on the best route for me. I'm experienced in multi-day mountain hikes, but I struggled with altitude sickness during the Inca Trail ten years ago, though without preventative medication. Could you please recommend a route that would minimize the risk of altitude sickness for someone with my experience level and a wish for the best views?

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten November 2024

We would recommend the Lemosho Route as it has a gradual ascent allowing for more time to acclimatize which will help with altitude sickness. It is also known as one of the more scenic routes so may be good fit for you! You could also consider the Marangu route as it one of the easier routes due to the terrain. However even though the elevation gain in gradual this route is shorter which means there is less time to acclimatize.
