- Day 1
Vientiane
You'll arrive in Vientiane and get picked up by your guide for the hotel transfer. After you settle in, there's time to walk through the city's main temples like Wat Sisaket, which has thousands of small Buddha statues throughout, and Wat Prakeo, the royal temple. That Luang Stupa is next on the list, then you can check out the Patuxay Monument before heading to a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. This gives you a good sense of the city's spiritual side right from day one.

Vientiane to Luang Prabang
An early morning express train takes you north to Luang Prabang. Once you arrive and get settled at the hotel, you'll visit the National Museum inside the former Royal Palace to learn about the city's history. From there, you can see Wat Sene, the city's oldest temple, and then head to Wat Xieng Thong with its tree of life mosaic work. The Traditional Arts & Ethnicity Centre comes next, then you'll climb Mount Phousi in the late afternoon to catch the sunset views over the city. Later, you can wander through the Night Market to look for local textiles and crafts.

Luang Prabang
This day is spent on the Mekong River heading upstream with views of the surrounding countryside. You'll stop at Pak Ou Caves, a sacred site with thousands of Buddha images set into the cave walls. The day also includes visits to local villages like Ban Muangkeo where you can see how rice wine gets made, and Ban Xiengmene. A climb up to Wat Chomphet gives you panoramic views back toward Luang Prabang. Later you'll visit the silk weaving village of Ban Xang Khong and the papermaking village of Ban Xieng Lek to see traditional crafts being made.

Luang Prabang
The morning involves traveling to Ban Long Lao to visit villages of the Khmu and Hmong ethnic groups and see how their communities function. You'll then head to the Buffalo Dairy Farm for a guided tour where you can help feed the buffalo, watch them get washed, and see the milking process. After that, you drive to Kuang Sy Waterfalls where you have the option to swim in the turquoise pools or take forest walking paths. By evening, you'll return to watch the sunset at Wat Phabath.

After breakfast, you can head to Phosi Market to browse items like dried buffalo skins, local teas, saltpeter, and textiles from hill tribes if time allows. Then it's the transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
