- TPTim· November 7th, 2023My issue is with the way Tour Radar handled my booking. Initially I questioned the cabin descriptions, when making my choice for a cabin for the trip. I was told to disregard the numbers & letters at the end of the cabin description. This made booking the cabin confusing to say the least. Then after I had booked the trip, I was told the pricing was wrong, & was given the option to pay more or not book. I chose to pay the extra. When I received the itinerary, it didn't make sense. The trip was advertised as a port to port cruise from Strasbourg to Strasbourg, however the itinerary then said a bus trip from Strasbourg to Cochem & then the cruise from Cochem to Strasbourg. I questioned the false advertising & said that I wanted my money back. The penalty would have been the full value of the trip, as it was only one week before the trip that I had done the booking. Tour Radar tried to appease me by saying that they would pick up the cost for the bus trip. That was a lie because everyone had the bus trip included in their fare. The proper thing to do would have been to refund my money without penalty, as it was false advertising, not only for the price, but also the itinerary. When I questioned what we would do with our luggage from noon to 6pm, TourRadar said they arranged to have it put on the ship. Another lie ,as every one was able to store their luggage on the ship. Many people questioned why we had to be picked up so early, 7:30 am. to leave at 8am when we were not supposed to board the ship until 6pm. After we had lunch in Cochem, the bus driver said every one could board the ship. When we went to the ship we were told we couldn't board & that maybe 3:30 at the earliest we could board. We did board early & I guess it spoiled their handing out of the cabin keys & intros to the cabins. The first night was very amateurish, with the introductions of the crew & all of the workers on the ship. The Captain spoke of the ships dimensions, & capacities. What do I care if the ship holds 40,000 litres of fuel? Dinner was late, after 7:30. People were assigned tables, but our group had no idea of where we fit in. The ship itself was very noisy with engine sound & I asked a lady in our group who had been on other river cruises if it was normal, & she said "no". We never booked any excursions ahead of times as we wanted to see how things went. When I asked the price of a particular shore excursion, it was outrageously priced, but the lady who went on the excursion & said they prepaid for a pittance of what we were quoted told us we didn't miss anything as it was terrible. They expected a group of elderly people to climb numerous stairs in an old castle. There were a large group of Danish people & a large group of Swedish people, & the daily itineraries & menus were told in French & then English. After a couple of days of this both groups designated a person to translate to their respective groups. It seemed to me that when you have large groups of foreign languages, arrangements could have been made to accommodate them. The one really good thing about this cruise was the food. It was delicious, although some dishes could have been hotter. TourRadar has offered me firstly a $50 travel voucher, which I never did see & secondly another $100 travel voucher. I would never go on a TourRadar cruise if they gave it to me for free.Show moreCroisiEurope River Cruises commented on this reviewHello, We've read your message, and are sorry for any inconvenience you may have encountered. Asked on October 9th, 2023How much luggage is allowed on board the ship? We are currently traveling Europe and have 2 backpacks, 2 carry on luggage & 2 personal items.
- CroisiEurope River CruisesOperator•Written October 2023
Usually it will depend on how much your flight will allow to carry. I believe the numbers of luggage you have would be fine to take on the ship.

Traveler•Written October 2023I understand the colour coding of rooms on the ships plan, however, what do the hyphenated categories like B-C followed by a number mean. Also, what do you mean by enjoy the privacy of your own room mean.
- CroisiEurope River CruisesOperator•Written October 2023
The 'C_179' is just an error and you do not have to worry about it. The meaning of 'Enjoy the privacy of your own room' is usually for solo passengers who will have their own single room, or for a passenger who is booking with another passenger but would rather have their own room instead of sharing with the second passenger.
