What people love about touring Galapagos Islands solo
- Galapagos Essentials
Great snorkeling seeing marine life around Isla de Lobos bahía in Isla de San Cristabol. Wish the tour had more sites/views to visit and see during stay at San Cristabol. Wonderful time seeing giant turtles in Isla de Santa Cruz. Spectacular hike and views at Playa de Tortuga!
- Magical Galapagos (5 Days)
Great collection of day tours but just be aware that’s what it is - no tour group as such but everything organised seamlessly and really made the most of all the time there. Would recommend this trip
- Galapagos Discovery
coming from the airport to the hotel in the early am was difficult. All the flights arrive in the am so we can be there for the 6 pm meeting the same day. No one was there to meet us. we used the bus service at the airport which was a disaster. They took us to the city bus stop and we were supposed to get on the local cab to go to the hotel -- no cabs were available. When we wanted to break away and find our own cab they would not let us as to keep us safe. The guide in the hotel was good and made sure we got on the plane to the islands. Knowing it was a holiday weekend the tours were already packed and the kicker box elective tour as well as the 360 around the island was sold out. It should have been asked before the trip so spots could be reserved for our tour group. Our guide was very helpful when one of the kids got hurt and made sure he was taken care of well in the local hospital. The speed boats between the islands was the worse experience -- it was full of gas fumes. The motion sickness was not too bad. The last day we had a new boat with no fumes and it was actually pleasant. All the included excursions were excellent except for the one on isabella where they did not have fins and life jackets for the ones who needed it. Guide was not too clear on what activities to do in the free time. Could have been clearer or it could maybe have been written down as there was so much information - on how to get to the various beaches. Kinda figured it out by asking others. Food was good. We found some much cheaper spots when we were on our own the last few days. The trip was once in a lifetime. Animals, weather, snorkeling, the islands themselves incredible. Absolutely breathtaking.
