What people love about touring Australia/Oceania solo
- Super 7 - Seven Day Tour of Tasmania
Itinerary was excellent. We saw and did many things every day. Transportation, minibus, generally comfortable for me, but not so good for taller people. Accommodation: Brichena hostel was a huge disappointment, bunk rooms and shower/toilets not clean, also all very cramped. Hobart YHA great location, rooms really clean. Sara, one of the staff, was always extremely helpful and cheerful. Strahan accommodation basic but clean, especially appreciated the owner's welcome and info speech about taking each and every individual taking responsibility for keeping the kitchen & bathrooms clean! The breakfasts were sufficient (cereals, milk, yoghurt, toast) especially as we were usually up and out the door anywhere from 6.30 or 7.30. Darcy was our guide the first 5 days & nights. She couldn't have been better. Always organised, informative, aware of different needs. Most importantly Darcy managed to keep everyone entertained, even on some long days. Overall, Ultimate 8 tour was great value for money.
- Famous 5 - 5 day Tour of Tasmania
Despite Tasmania being on fire, our trip was really affected. The only thing we could not do was the Montezuma Falls walk but we ended up at the Henty sand dunes instead (still a good activity and something to learn about). There's quite a bit of driving a few of the days so you get to see a lot of the countryside and small towns. I wish we had stopped or did some more walks at different mountains along the way - those activities really break up the driving. However, the ones we did do are absolutely beautiful. I'd highly recommend going to the play in Strahan (The Ship That Never Was) - hysterical and entertaining! We had a really great group of people which really added to the trip! Our evenings, meals, and our last night in Hobart were some really great times.
- Ultimate Tasmania - 10 Day Comfort Tour of Tasmania
This was our first time on a round trip with a guide. The 10-day trip through Tasmania was perfect for us to get to know the country. As Germans, we were very impressed with the English language of the guide Keygan, as we were able to understand almost all the explanations very well. Keygan told us many stories and background information about Tasmania and its colonial history with a lot of humour. The mixed travelling group of about 27-75 years with participants from U.S., AUS, England, New Zealand, Switzerland, and Germany was well looked after by Keygan as a herding dog. I can only recommend it. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
