Reviews of 7 day Active Tours
- A 5 Day Tuk Tuk Adventure in beautiful Chiang Mai
Loved being up in the mountains beyond where most tours go. Had some fun stops at local coffee shops and small roadside stands for food.
- 5 Day Chauffeur Driven Tuk Tuk Adventure in Chiang Mai
Best tour ever! So much fun feeding, walking with, and bathing the elephants. This was the experience of a lifetime for our family, and we have many photos to cherish for many many years. I thought the river rafting and some of the hikes would be too difficult and/or dangerous for this 69-year-old grandmother, but I thoroughly enjoyed these challenging but not-too-strenuous experiences. I felt safe at all times. The food and accommodations, though not luxurious, were great and refreshing, just what I was hoping for in the mountains of northern Thailand. I couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous and serene setting than those cabins overlooking the rice fields!
- 7 Days Imperial Cities and Sahara Experience
This was a fantastic tour of Morocco with Morocco Joy Travel - my wife and I loved it! Ali was our guide for the tour and he was wonderful. Ali was great at giving us interesting details on the places we visited, advice on what to do in different locations, he had really good, consistent communication, and he was just fun to be with. He was also very flexible - we had a suitcase get lost in transit and he helped call the baggage handlers and get our bag delivered much faster and easier than it would have been otherwise, and he adapted our schedule to accommodate this. We also wanted to add on a side-trip and he gave great advice on what to do with the extra time and made it happen (for a very reasonable extra cost). We loved visiting intense Marrakech and visiting crowded markets and beautiful palaces with a local guide. Next we headed through the rugged Atlas Mountains on our way to the desert. Ali did a great job of stopping at interesting sites along the way for pictures and to stretch our legs. A highlight of our trip was riding camels in the sand dunes to experience the desert in a unique way. After a night in the desert camp, we drove to Fes, again making useful and interesting stops along the way. In Fes, we again had a local guide that took as, with Ali’s help, all around the city. Our add-on day trip was to Chefchouen (a picturesque town with everything painted blue), which was a lovely addition. Lodging: Every place we stayed was wonderful. We were constantly impressed with each Riad. Food: So much good food! And lots of bottled water. We loved trying tajine, kebab, grilled lamb cutlets cut fresh by the butcher, pastilla and lots of other unique dishes. Ali joined us for lunch a few times, which was great. Transportation: The van Ali drove was great, had very nice air-conditioning, and he kept us safe with some intense traffic. Overall, it was a magical trip made great by Ali and Morocco Joy Travel.
What our customers ask about 7 Day Active Tours & Trips
What destinations are most popular for 7-day adventure tours?
For a one-week trip, travelers love exploring Morocco's Imperial Cities and the Sahara Desert, seeing the classic India Golden Triangle of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, or going on safari in Tanzania's northern parks like Serengeti and Ngorongoro. These places pack a lot into a week - you get to see incredible landscapes and really experience the local culture. People who've taken these trips tell me they're the perfect length to get a good feel for the destination without feeling rushed.
What kind of accommodation can I expect on a 7-day adventure tour?
You'll get a nice mix of places to stay. In Morocco, you might sleep in a traditional riad guesthouse in Chefchaouen one night and a comfy desert camp in Merzouga the next. Thailand offers everything from nice 3-4 star hotels like the Khum Khun Wang Resort to cozy mountain lodges with rice terrace views. In India, you get some really comfortable spots like the Courtyard by Marriott in Agra. One traveler told me: "The accommodations were perfect - being able to adventure during the day but relax in great surroundings in the evenings."
What wildlife might I encounter on a 7-day adventure safari?
On Tanzania's northern circuit, you've got a great chance of seeing the major African animals. Travelers regularly spot the "Big Five" - lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffalo. One person who just got back told me they saw "around 150+ Lions, 9 Cheetahs, 5 Leopards, thousands of Zebras, and hundreds of Elephants" during their week-long safari. The variety is pretty incredible.
What's the ideal season for a 7-day adventure tour?
It really depends where you're going. For Tanzania safaris, aim for June through October - that's when wildlife viewing is best and temperatures hover between 70-85°F (21-29°C). If you're heading to Morocco, spring (March-May) or fall (September-November) are great choices with milder temperatures. These times tend to be most popular with travelers since the weather's good but not too extreme.
What weather conditions should I prepare for on a 7-day adventure tour?
Pack for variety! In Morocco, summer days can hit 122°F (50°C) but nights in the Atlas Mountains drop below freezing to 21°F (-6°C). Bali stays tropical with temperatures around 86°F (30°C) and lots of humidity. Northern Thailand is more moderate - usually 77-86°F (25-30°C) in the mountains. One helpful tip from a traveler: "Most Moroccan buildings don't have heating, so bring warm layers for nighttime."
How much of the day is typically spent traveling between destinations?
You'll spend a decent amount of time on the road. In Morocco, drives between major stops like Marrakech to Merzouga usually take 4-6 hours. The India Golden Triangle involves 3-4 hour drives between cities. Thailand mountain routes typically mean 2-3 hours between places. As one traveler put it: "While this means some early starts and long drives, it allows us to see a huge amount in the available time."
