Itinerary
- Day 1
Middle Atlas Mountains to Merzouga
You'll start in Ifrane, where you can see the alpine architecture that makes this mountain town stand out in Morocco. From there, the drive takes you through cedar forests and valleys, and you might spot Barbary macaques if you're lucky. Later in the afternoon, you'll head toward Merzouga Desert. By evening, there's a two-hour camel trek timed for sunset, which gives you that golden light before heading to the desert camp. Dinner and your night under the stars happen right there at the camp.

Merzouga Desert Experience
This one starts early. You'll be up before dawn to catch the desert sunrise, then have breakfast to fuel up. After you've had some time to relax, a 4WD tour takes you off-road to meet nomads in their traditional tents and check out the abandoned mining village of Mifis with its fossilized remains. Around lunchtime, you'll head to Khamlia Village for live Gnawa music and homemade Berber pizza. Later, you explore the Merzouga oasis, looking at the community gardens and nomadic depository before heading back to your riad for the night.

Todgha Gorge to Dades Valley
Another early start to watch the desert sunrise, followed by breakfast. Next you'll walk through Todgha Gorge, where the canyon walls rise high and a clear river runs through. The route then continues to Dades Valley, which has rock formations and oasis areas surrounded by small villages. You'll see geological formations like Monkey Fingers and Dades Gorges from various viewpoints as you drive through. The night is spent in an authentic riad located in Dades Valley.

Atlas Studios to Marrakech
Your day begins at Atlas Studio, where you get a behind-the-scenes look at filmmaking with sets and props from movies and TV shows you might recognize. From there, you visit Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site with mud-brick architecture that's quite intricate. Then it's on to historic Telouet Kasbah to see its decorated rooms and opulent design. The drive to Marrakech takes you through the High Atlas Mountains, passing through traditional Berber villages and past terraced fields along the way.
