What people love about Luxury Tours in Thailand
- Highlights of Thailand
Our tour guide Kanarat (Naa) was fantastic. She was very helpful and friendly and invited our tour group for lunch with her family at her home. She still took us out in the free time of the tour when we didn't really know what to do. She was enthusiastic and helpful answering questions about Thai culture.
- Journeys: Explore Northern Thailand National Geographic Journeys
A really intensive trip through Thailand. We covered a lot in a very short time. Of course, this meant that at times we were rushed through some places but it’s to be expected if you’re seeing a lot of places in limited time. The accommodation was excellent and our guide Ben was fantastic! She always went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and happy.
- Journeys: Explore Southern Thailand National Geographic Journeys
My husband and I traveled with G Adventures to Southern Thailand. What a trip! We traveled by plane, and ferry, and vans, long boats, kayak, and tuktuk! Yes, it blew my comfort zone right out of the water, but the whole time we had the comfort of a local guide who spoke the language, explained customs, arranged our travels and made food suggestions. We had wonderful company with the other people on our tour, which also added to the fun. I wasn't sure I would enjoy traveling with a group, but I would not hesitate to do it again with G. We saw and experienced so much more than we would have on our own.
What our customers ask about Luxury Tours to Thailand
What type of luxury accommodations can I expect in Thailand?
Thailand's luxury lodgings span from refined city hotels to secluded beach properties. Bangkok's historic Montien Surawong Hotel opened by Queen Sirikit in 1967 represents classic Thai elegance. Along Phuket's coast the Angsana Laguna Resort provides oceanfront rooms with direct beach access. For a different take on luxury the Lisu Lodge in the northern hills combines traditional tribal architecture with modern amenities. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The hotels were in safe and convenient areas that made free time easy to navigate."
What's included in a luxury Thailand tour package?
Most upscale Thailand tours cover the essentials: top-tier hotels private drivers knowledgeable local guides and carefully selected dining venues. Packages typically include domestic flights entrance fees and special activities like cooking classes with local chefs or private temple tours. Many tours feature unique experiences such as dinner in a Chiang Mai family home or river cruises in ancient Ayutthaya. Prices generally run between USD 2,000-4,000 for 7-15 day itineraries. As noted by a TourRadar traveler: "Everything was beyond our expectations! The travel guides and drivers were so nice and cared about every detail of our journey."
What's the best time of year for a luxury tour in Thailand?
Plan your luxury Thailand trip between November and March when temperatures are mild and rainfall is minimal. During these months Chiang Mai sees pleasant 25°C days perfect for exploring temples and outdoor activities. Beach destinations along the Andaman coast including Phuket offer ideal conditions from December through April. As shared by TourRadar travelers: "The weather was perfect for exploring temples in the morning and relaxing by the pool in the afternoon."
What are the best luxury destinations in Thailand?
Thailand's premier destinations each offer distinct luxury experiences. Bangkok pairs century-old temples with world-class restaurants while Chiang Mai specializes in exclusive cultural programs and ethical wildlife encounters. The coastal regions of Phuket and Koh Samui feature high-end beach resorts. Around the Andaman Sea private boat charters explore the limestone cliffs of Phi Phi Islands and Phang Nga Bay. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Loved exploring southern Thailand from a luxury catamaran - so much better than sitting in a resort in Phuket Krabi or any other over-run tourist destinations!"
What types of dining experiences are included in luxury tours?
High-end tours in Thailand balance refined restaurant experiences with authentic local cuisine. Programs often include private dinner cruises on Bangkok's Chao Phraya River and specialty dining at venues like Four Seasons Chiang Mai where chefs create personalized wellness menus. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The dining experiences were exceptional - from traditional Thai cuisine to modern fusion restaurants every meal was carefully selected."
