Reviews of Nordic / Scandinavia Family Tours
- Grand Scandinavia (Classic)
A fantastic trip, our guide Greg and driver Zolton were exceptional. I have done many trips with Insight and as well as many, many with other companies but have to say Greg Colgin went out of his way making my trip one of the best ever. A very attentive Tour Director and attention to details the best. As for Zoltan this is the second trip I have travelled with him as driver, a driver I Trust and feel safe with and a man that goes out of his way to make our experience even better. A lovely clean coach each day with beautifully cleaned windows is always a plus. As for Insight I just love the roomy coaches with extra leg space.
- Highlights of Scandinavia
The trip was all I expected an much more. I don't usually sign up for bus tours and was a little apprehensive, but I learned and saw a great deal more than I would have done on my own. Lasse Darmstadt was our guide, and was exceptional. He was knowledgable, entertaining and thoughtful at every turn. We could not have asked for a better guide. As a professor I am aware of the skills it takes to convey information to a group with varied interests and he stick-handled this superbly. Full marks.
- Scenic Scandinavia and its Fjords
Great experience! More than we expected. Our guide was very knowledgable about all countries we visited. Accommodations were good, food was excellent, got tired of buffets but the choices were good. Very organized, scheduled tour. Sometimes I needed more down time to soak up the beauty of the countries and relax. Met great people and made new friends. Downside, changes were made to accommodations and we were never notified. We had no contact with the company until we reached our starting point. Would have liked some basic contact , welcome or something.
What our customers ask about Nordic / Scandinavia Family Tours
What are the best family-friendly activities in Nordic/Scandinavia?
Nordic and Scandinavian destinations offer activities that engage all ages. Children can meet Santa Claus at his official residence in Rovaniemi Finland or explore Viking history at Oslo's museums. The ABBA museum in Stockholm provides an interactive music experience while Friðheimar farm in Iceland introduces visitors to Icelandic horses and greenhouse farming techniques. Copenhagen's Tivoli Gardens remains a family favorite and the Fløibanen funicular in Bergen offers panoramic city views. A TourRadar traveler shares: "The journey up to Floyen located 320 meters above sea level takes only 5-8 minutes. It is an experience in itself but when you appear at the top you will be amazed by the fantastic views over Bergen."
What type of accommodation can families expect on Nordic/Scandinavia tours?
Family accommodations range from well-appointed hotels to unique local stays. The Fosshotel Baron in Reykjavik provides family rooms with kitchen facilities while the Scandic Hotels chain across Norway Sweden and Denmark caters to families with dedicated play spaces and child-friendly dining options. Guests can also experience overnight ferry cabins between capital cities or stay in traditional countryside guesthouses. According to a TourRadar traveler: "The hotels were well chosen for location and access to the wondrous landscapes. Some hotels are remote all the better to enjoy the beautiful natural settings."
